If Roblox won’t let you in, the fastest fix depends on which of four things is failing: your password or username, the browser you’re signing in from, the verification code, or the account itself. Work through the matching section below in order. Most lockouts are solved by the official recovery flow using the email address or phone number already linked to your account. If neither is linked, or ownership checks fail, you will need Roblox Support.
Match your symptom to the right fix
Start with what you actually see on the login screen or in the error message. The table below maps each symptom to its most likely cause and the first step to take.

Confirm which identifier you are signing in with
A display name is not the same as a username. Your username is the unique handle that appears on your profile as @username, and it is the identifier that matters at sign-in. Many failed logins happen because a player types a display name or an old handle.
You can also sign in with an email address, but only in browsers and mobile apps where the email on the account is verified. If an email is rejected, check the exact address and confirm it is verified, then try your username instead. If one email address is linked to more than one username, Roblox tells you to sign in with the username. Recover a forgotten password
Roblox’s official route for a forgotten password is the account recovery flow, which only works if an email address or phone number is already linked to the account.
- Open the Roblox login page and select Forgot Password or Username?
- Enter the email address linked to the account and submit it. Roblox sends reset instructions to the email currently associated with the account.
- If no email arrives after a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.
- If the account uses a phone number instead of email, select the Phone tab and complete the SMS verification.
- If neither an email nor a phone number was ever linked, contact Roblox Support. Roblox requires ownership verification before it will reset a password or change account information, so have as much account history as possible ready. See I Forgot My Password.
Choose a new password that you do not use on any other service. If you can still sign in and only want to change the password, the account settings flow asks for your current password first. Roblox also suggests considering a password manager to keep unique passwords organized; its guidance on a banner asking you to change your password is at Why am I seeing a banner asking me to change my password?
Recover a forgotten username
The username recovery flow uses the same email or phone linked to the account, which is the route described in I Forgot My Username. A purchase receipt may also show the username. Roblox states that without an email, a phone number, or purchase history, there is no way to recover the username through these methods, so keep at least one of those records safe.

Fix browser problems when your credentials are correct
If your password is right but the Roblox website still refuses to sign you in, the problem is usually local to the browser. Work through these checks in order:

- Clear temporary internet files and cookies. Roblox recommends this first step in its General Website Issues guide.
- Check your extensions. If the problem returns after extensions are enabled, Roblox advises finding out which extension is incompatible. Disable extensions one at a time to isolate it.
- Allow the captcha domains. If the captcha fails or does not load, Roblox lists
.arkoselabs.comand.funcaptcha.comfor allow-listing in your network, filter, or security software. - Check the computer clock. An inaccurate system time can break verification. Set it to update automatically.
- Reset the password if the problem continues. Roblox says a password reset may be needed if these steps fail. Browser-level symptoms are also covered in Issues Logging In or Out in a Browser.

Email 2-Step Verification code
- Confirm you are checking the email address attached to the account, not an older one.
- Look in spam, junk, promotions, and any other filtered folders.
- Use Resend Code, or Start Over if resending does not help.
- Note that email codes expire after 15 minutes, and a code stops working once it has been entered incorrectly for that account. Request a new one rather than retrying the old one.
Authenticator app code
Enter the code currently shown in the app. Authenticator codes rotate, so a code copied a few moments earlier will be rejected. If the new code still fails, try another 2-Step Verification method you have already set up. If every method fails, contact Roblox Support.
One-time email login code
Roblox offers one-time email login codes to some users only, and only when the email on the account is verified. Enter the code on the same device you used to request it. If it fails, request a new code or sign in with your password. Never share a one-time code with anyone, including someone claiming to be Roblox staff. Details are in Logging In with a One-Time Code.

If you suspect your account has been hacked
A hacked account needs the device cleaned before the password is changed. If you reset the password while malware is still on the computer, the attacker may be able to capture the new one. Roblox’s guidance on hacked accounts sets the order out in My account was hacked – What do I do?
- Remove any off-site downloads and browser extensions you do not recognize or did not intentionally install.
- Run a full virus scan of the computer.
- Reset your Roblox password using the recovery flow above.
- Turn on 2-Step Verification.
- If the reset does not work, contact Roblox Support.
Roblox may ask you to change your password after suspicious activity, or when it detects that a password may have been taken from another service. Treat that prompt as a real warning and do not dismiss it. Roblox states that the first email address added to the account, or the billing email used for the first payment, can help verify ownership, but providing them does not guarantee that the account can be recovered.

When to contact Roblox Support
Contact Roblox Support when any of these apply:
- You have no usable recovery email or phone number linked to the account.
- You cannot pass the ownership checks.
- You still cannot sign in after completing the official recovery steps.
- You suspect a compromise that a password reset has not resolved.
Use the Contact Us page and choose the help category that fits your problem. Include your username, the device you are using, the exact error text, and a clear description of what happened. For browser or technical problems, add the affected web page, device model, operating system version, the steps that reproduce the problem, and any recent changes to your device or connection. Support may ask for screenshots. If the problem looks like a platform-wide outage rather than something specific to your account, check Roblox’s status page before you spend time on local fixes.
Things that will not restore access
A security or malware scan cleans the computer, but it does not reset your Roblox account or unlock it. Likewise, clearing cookies will not recover a forgotten password. Use the scan and cleanup to protect the device, and use the recovery flow to regain the account.
