Look up the exact game on the WNBA schedule, then watch it through the broadcaster listed for your location. If you cannot watch live, League Pass replay availability depends on whether the blackout is national or local.
Find the authorized live broadcast for that game
- Identify the game. Note the teams and date, then find the matchup on the current WNBA schedule. Availability can vary by game, country, and market, so do not assume one streaming service carries every matchup.
- Check the broadcaster listed for your location. The WNBA directs viewers to the local broadcast station, regional sports network, or national distributor carrying a game that is unavailable live on League Pass. In the US, use the league’s League Pass page ZIP-code check to see local exclusions.
- Watch through that provider. Depending on the listing, this may mean a TV channel or its authorized streaming service. Confirm access with the provider before subscribing; a League Pass subscription does not override a blackout.
The WNBA explains that blackouts reflect “certain exclusive rights to televise live games.” Its August 12, 2026 help article lists ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and Amazon Prime Video among the US national broadcasters whose games are excluded live from League Pass, as well as locally televised games of the viewer’s local team. The list may change, so check the current WNBA blackout rules rather than relying on an old list.
How the league determines location
WNBA League Pass uses your IP address or enabled device location services to determine location; in the US, ZIP code determines which team is considered local for blackout purposes. A game may therefore be blocked because of the location signals available to the service, not because of the address you expect it to use.
If you are watching from Canada
Check the game’s listing and the applicable national provider. The WNBA’s August 12, 2026 article lists TSN, SN, CTV, and CTV2 for nationally televised games in Canada. Rights and availability differ from the US, so do not use the US broadcaster list to determine where to watch in Canada.

When the League Pass replay becomes available
If you cannot watch through the listed broadcaster, the replay timing depends on the blackout type and country:
| Blackout situation | League Pass replay availability |
|---|---|
| US national blackout | 6 a.m. Eastern Time the following day, according to the WNBA’s August 12, 2026 blackout article. |
| US local blackout | Shortly after the game ends, according to the WNBA’s August 12, 2026 blackout article. |
| Canada national blackout | Shortly after the game ends, according to the WNBA’s August 12, 2026 blackout article. |
The WNBA says the All-Star Friday Night event, All-Star Game, and Commissioner’s Cup championship are unavailable live on League Pass in the US and Canada; they become available on demand after they conclude. Check the current blackout article for applicable event and season details.

What to check if your location seems wrong
First confirm that the game is not actually subject to a local or national rights blackout. If the listing does not explain the block, check whether your device and network reflect your actual location: the service can use IP address and, when enabled, device location services. The WNBA’s published guidance does not give a guaranteed sequence for correcting a false location reading. If the problem persists, contact WNBA support and provide the game, your location, and the device or service showing the message.
When an antenna might help—and when it will not
An indoor HDTV antenna is only a possible route if the specific game is listed on a local over-the-air station you can receive. The WNBA says ION is available throughout most of the US through antennas, pay-TV providers, and streaming services, but that does not mean every game is on ION or that an antenna will carry a game blacked out on a streaming service. Check the local station and its schedule, along with reception in your area, before buying equipment.

The WNBA subscriber agreement prohibits attempts to circumvent blackout restrictions. It says violations may result in immediate termination, a $100 early termination charge, and possible legal action. Use the listed broadcaster or wait for the League Pass replay instead.
