Xbox FanFest is an in-person community event, but it does not follow one standard agenda: Xbox says programming is tailored to each location. Some announced stops feature hands-on gameplay, while others include Xbox history, collectibles, fan activities or a broadcast watch party. The venue, activities and way to attend depend on the city, so check that stop’s official FanFest information before making plans.
What happens at Xbox FanFest?
FanFest brings Xbox fans together for location-specific programming. Xbox’s tour announcement describes events built around local communities, with opportunities to connect with fellow players and people involved in games. The actual mix of activities varies by stop rather than following a guaranteed, tour-wide schedule.
Hands-on gameplay and demos
Some FanFest events include hands-on gameplay. Xbox’s Seattle announcement lists gameplay among its activities, and its Tokyo Game Show plans included Call of Duty and other Xbox titles at FanFest Tokyo. Xbox also promoted hands-on access to Minecraft Dungeons II on the Tokyo Game Show show floor. That show-floor demo was part of the broader Tokyo Game Show programming; check the event announcement to distinguish it from activities inside FanFest.
Xbox history, fan activities and community
For Seattle, Xbox described a celebration of the brand’s past, present and future, including Xbox history and artifacts. The announcement also listed trivia, collectibles, fan activities and surprises. These are Seattle examples, not a promise that every city will have the same exhibits or activities.

Watch parties and special guests
FanFest Tokyo included a watch party for the Tokyo Game Show broadcast, with special guests Misuzu Araki and Larry Hryb. Broadcast tie-ins and guests depend on the event’s local schedule.
Merchandise
Xbox announced an Xbox Gear pop-up shop for Seattle. Xbox introduced Xbox Gear as its official merchandise destination in August 2026, but the Seattle announcement does not establish that other FanFest stops will have a shop or carry particular products.

Are there game demos at Xbox FanFest?
There can be, but demos are not established as a feature at every stop. The published Seattle program includes hands-on gameplay; Tokyo’s announcements named Xbox games at FanFest Tokyo and hands-on Minecraft Dungeons II on the Tokyo Game Show floor. Check the official announcement for your city for the playable games, where they will be available and any local participation details.
How do you get tickets or access Xbox FanFest?
There is no single entry process established for the entire tour. Xbox’s August 24, 2026 tour update said tickets for every stop would be awarded through city-specific sweepstakes. A later Mexico City update described confirmed registration and follow-up attendance instructions instead. Use the selected city’s official rules for the current process, eligibility, capacity and any cost information; do not assume a sweepstakes, registration method, age rule or price applies everywhere.

Mexico City’s registration instructions were location-specific
In a September 10, 2026 update, Xbox Wire en Español said the first 2,000 successful registrations were assigned QR-code attendance instructions for the October 17 session. Other confirmed registrants were directed to select a date and time subject to availability. This was a Mexico City allocation detail, not a tour-wide capacity limit or general ticket rule.
How does FanFest differ by city?
Xbox says each FanFest is unique to its location. When comparing stops, look for the announced playable games and other activities, the date and venue, the entry mechanism and its eligibility or capacity rules, and any accessibility or on-site accommodations specified in that event’s announcement. Do not infer that an accommodation or activity offered at one venue is available at another.

What are the 2026 FanFest dates and venues?
Xbox’s August 24, 2026 tour update listed Cologne on August 26, Tokyo on September 17, London on September 26, Mexico City and Sydney on October 17, Toronto on November 6, and Seattle with details still to come at that time. On October 5, Xbox announced Seattle FanFest at MoPOP for November 12, 2026. Xbox had also announced a June Los Angeles FanFest associated with the Xbox Games Showcase. These are 2026 schedule details, and several dates have passed; consult the official Xbox FanFest page for current or upcoming events and the latest venue and access information.

- Confirm the event date, venue and city-specific schedule on the official FanFest page.
- Read that stop’s entry rules, including how to enter or register, eligibility, deadlines and any capacity limits.
- Check which games, activities and watch-party programming are actually listed for the event.
- Look for local accessibility and on-site accommodation details rather than assuming they match another city’s event.
- Recheck official details close to the event in case dates, programming or entry instructions have changed.
