What should I know before playing Danganronpa 2?
Spike Chunsoft sums up the setup this way: “Trapped on this island of mutual killing, your only hope of escape rests in solving the island’s mysteries.” The publisher’s official game page describes a school trip to Jabberwock Island that turns into a murder mystery. Students must investigate what happens and solve the cases as they search for a way off the island.

The main loop moves between character interaction and investigation, then a Class Trial. You explore, gather evidence, and talk with classmates; in trials, you use that evidence in minigames to challenge contradictions and work through the case. The publisher also identifies Rebuttal Showdowns among the trial features. A 2016 DigiPen Game Narrative Review describes six chapters divided into Daily Life, Deadly Life, and Class Trial modes; that is a dated structural overview, not a guide to current editions or platforms.
Is Danganronpa 2 appropriate for teenagers?
The rating depends on the platform and rating system. The ESRB entry is specifically for the PS Vita version: it is rated Mature 17+ for Blood, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, and Violence. Its content description mentions murdered classmates and crime-scene investigation, violent punishment scenes, some bloody imagery, revealing outfits and sexualized framing, suggestive dialogue, and profanity.

The Android listing on Google Play uses a different system and rates the app Teen for Violence, Blood, Partial Nudity, and Language. These labels are not directly interchangeable: check the rating shown for the edition and platform you intend to use, and consider the detailed content descriptions if you are choosing for a younger player.
What platforms is Danganronpa 2 on?

That list does not guarantee that every edition is available in every region or storefront. Check the device-specific store listing before buying, especially if you need a particular language or edition.

Digital purchase is the route to check for the listed console, PC, and mobile platforms. Storefront availability and edition details can vary. The Google Play Android listing specifies English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese text, English and Japanese audio, and Android 7.0 or later, while noting that some devices are unsupported. It also says the smartphone controls and interface are optimized for mobile and minigame difficulty is adjusted for smartphones.
Physical Nintendo Switch option
The official Danganronpa Decadence page documents a physical Nintendo Switch bundle containing four games: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition, Goodbye Despair Anniversary Edition, V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition, and Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp. The page lists Amazon among its physical retailers. This is a four-game set, not a standalone boxed copy of Goodbye Despair; the page does not establish current stock or price.
