Bandits & Bounties adds bounty hunting and bandit camps, new crafting stations and clothing options, a fishing destination, quality-of-life changes, and selected bug fixes. Playtonic Games’ 24 August 2026 announcement says the update is available on Steam; it does not establish its current availability on other platforms.
How bounty hunting and bandit camps work
Wanted Posters appear at the Sheriff’s building. Take a bounty, track the wanted bandit in the wilderness, then return to Sheriff Tom to claim the reward. Bandit camps can also appear as you explore the overworld, where you may be able to claim plunder. These additions give players new reasons to investigate the frontier beyond routine exploration. Playtonic Games’ announcement describes both features.

New crafting equipment and customization
Three new pieces of equipment
- Animal Trap: another way to gather animal resources.
- Rock Tumbler: breaks down rocks into useful materials and may uncover rare gems.
- Tailoring Table: lets you craft clothes and hats.
More character options
The update adds outfits, hats, and head accessories, as well as red hair as a character customization option.
A fishing spot with fish from every season
On Tuesdays and Saturdays, players can take a boat from the docks to a new fishing spot. Fish from every season can be caught there. The announcement also says fishing is more forgiving while a fishing buff is active.

Selected bug fixes
Playtonic’s announcement highlights fixes for several specific issues:
- Controller problems during cooking and crafting.
- Incorrect skin-color display after switching between new-game creation and loading a save.
- A crash in French during Dr. Andrew’s ninth heart scene.
- Animal resources not appearing after extensive butchering.
- Winter invitation mail for scenes that were unavailable.
- Shed, coop, and barn upgrade items being removed incorrectly.
The announcement notes that these are examples; it also includes additional fixes and improvements.

Platforms and announcement date
Playtonic Games published the announcement on 24 August 2026 and said to get the update on Steam, with details for other platforms to be announced later. That wording confirms the announcement’s Steam availability statement, but does not establish whether the update has since launched elsewhere. The Cattle Country Steam listing also surfaces the announcement.
