Its biggest additions are the story’s true ending, many new character events, new music, Fated List prophecies and late-game unlockables—making this a substantial point to return, rather than a routine patch. As of Supergiant Games’ FAQ update on April 14, 2026, the game is also available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What’s new in Hades II 1.0?
Supergiant’s 1.0 launch announcement describes the update as the completion of Early Access development. The headline addition is the story’s true ending, alongside a broad set of additions that give returning players more to uncover across the game.
- Story completion: The 1.0 release adds the story’s true ending.
- More character events: Supergiant says there are scores of new events for the game’s dozens of fully voiced characters.
- New music: The studio describes the soundtrack as just under four hours of music created for Hades II. Its FAQ says it includes orchestral pieces co-composed by Austin Wintory and recorded at Abbey Road Studios.
- More goals and rewards: The update adds new Fated List prophecies and late-game unlockables.
- Finishing touches: Supergiant also cites other refinements without itemizing them in the announcement.
These additions build on Hades II’s structure rather than changing its basic premise: it is a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which Melinoë, Princess of the Underworld, uses dark sorcery in a fight against the Titan of Time. The story unfolds through setbacks and accomplishments, with new locations, challenges and upgrade systems along the way. Supergiant’s 1.0 announcement describes the release additions; its FAQ, updated April 14, 2026, provides the current platform and game details.
Is Hades II fully released now?
Yes. Hades II left Early Access with its 1.0 release on September 25, 2025, for PC and Nintendo Switch platforms. Supergiant described the Early Access period as part of a development process lasting more than four and a half years, including about a year and a half in Early Access. The studio said player feedback was instrumental to the sequel, as it had been to the original Hades.
#1 Best Overall
- Battle beyond the Underworld using dark sorcery to take on the Titan of Time in this bewitching sequel to the award-winning rogue-like dungeon crawler.
“Fully released” refers to the game’s 1.0 launch, not a promise that the game will never receive further updates. For players who left during Early Access, the key reason to revisit is that the main story now has its true ending, supported by additional events, prophecies and late-game rewards.
What platforms is Hades II on?
Supergiant’s FAQ, last updated April 14, 2026, lists Hades II for Steam, Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The game is also Steam Deck Verified.

At the original 1.0 announcement in September 2025, Supergiant listed the following Nintendo performance targets. These are developer-announced specifications, not independent benchmark results:
| Platform | TV mode | Handheld mode | Qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch 2 | 1080p at 120 fps | 1080p at 60 fps | Specifications announced by Supergiant in September 2025. |
| Nintendo Switch | 720p at 60 fps | 720p at 60 fps | Specifications announced by Supergiant in September 2025. |
Supergiant said owners of the Nintendo Switch version could download a free Switch 2 upgrade if they owned both consoles. The FAQ lists cross-saves between Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and between Steam and Epic Games Store. It says cross-saves with other versions are unavailable because of technical limitations, so do not expect a save to transfer between PC and PlayStation or Xbox.
