Pocketpair’s September 2025 plan to launch Palworld version 1.0 in 2026 is now out of date: a September 4, 2026 GamesRadar+ report says version 1.0 has released and update 1.1 is forthcoming. The report does not give 1.1 a release date or identify its planned features. The concrete feature list Pocketpair published earlier was a January 2025 roadmap, not a current delivery schedule.
What Pocketpair announced for Palworld
On September 16, 2025, Pocketpair announced a video about plans for Palworld version 1.0, which it described as the game’s official launch version. The company said Communications Director and Publishing Manager Bucky would discuss both the game’s future and Pocketpair’s plans. The announcement page set out that scope, but did not reproduce the video’s full detail. Pocketpair’s announcement said the studio was developing a large 1.0 update, planned to leave Early Access and release version 1.0 in 2026, and had other surprises in store for the remainder of 2025. That was a forward-looking plan at the time, not the current status.

Where the game stands after version 1.0
A GamesRadar+ report published September 4, 2026, says Palworld version 1.0 has released and that Pocketpair publishing and communications lead John Buckley described update 1.1 as forthcoming. Buckley called version 1.0 a “soft prologue” and said the studio was considering what comes next narratively. The report does not identify an update 1.1 feature or launch date, so neither can be treated as confirmed. GamesRadar+’s interview report is the later status update available here.
What was on the January 2025 roadmap
Pocketpair’s January 2025 roadmap named a broad set of game features and improvements. It did not provide delivery dates for the items, and its list should be read as a snapshot of plans then rather than a live checklist of work still outstanding.

The January roadmap is useful for understanding the range of work Pocketpair had identified, but the later report does not map those items to what shipped in version 1.0 or what may arrive in 1.1. It therefore cannot establish which roadmap points remain pending.
Game development is separate from Pocketpair’s broader plans
Legal proceedings and development
In a May 8, 2025 statement, Pocketpair said it was involved in prolonged proceedings over alleged patent infringement, disputed the allegations, and asserted that the patents in question were invalid. The company also said it had changed some Palworld mechanics to avoid disruptions to development and distribution, while reaffirming its commitment to the game and new content. These are Pocketpair’s stated positions, not a description of a court ruling. Pocketpair’s statement said: “We remain committed to developing Palworld and delivering exciting new content to our fans.”

Licensing and merchandise
In July 2024, Sony Music Entertainment Japan, Aniplex, and Pocketpair announced Palworld Entertainment, a joint venture intended to expand the franchise beyond the game through global licensing and merchandising. The venture said its efforts would begin with exclusive merchandise. The announcement supports the existence of a broad merchandise and licensing initiative, but does not establish what products are currently available or where they are in stock. The joint venture announcement also reported that Palworld had surpassed 25 million players after one month of release; that is a historical player-count milestone, not a current active-player total or a sales figure.
In an August 2026 report, GamesRadar+ quoted Buckley distinguishing Pocketpair-developed games from licensed franchise projects and identifying outside licensees for other Palworld products. That distinction matters: franchise activity beyond the game does not, by itself, mean Pocketpair is developing each licensed product. The report on Pocketpair’s licensing activity describes that separation.
