For PlayStation in the United States, the number to use for account questions is 800-345-7669. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s US Terms of Service, last revised April 2026, lists it as a phone contact, but it also names the website as the preferred route: playstation.com/support.
Treat the number as a US account line, not a universal support hotline. The “1 800” prefix does not establish that the line is toll-free from every country, and the terms do not say that it handles every type of issue.
What the number is for
The US Terms of Service list 800-345-7669 under contact information as an alternate phone contact for questions about a PlayStation account. The same section says that the best way to reach Sony about an account is through the support website, and gives the address as www.playstation.com/support.
“For further information, or if you have questions about your Account, the best way to contact us is via our website at www.playstation.com/support.”

In practice, that means the phone number is a fallback for account matters. For game purchases, subscriptions, hardware faults, or connectivity problems, PlayStation’s support guide asks you to find your issue first and then use the contact method attached to it.

Start with the support site for most problems
PlayStation’s “How to contact PlayStation Support” guide organises help by category, including account and security, purchases, subscriptions, games, hardware, connectivity, and more. It also covers repairs and manuals. Choosing the right category first routes you to the correct contact option, which is often faster than calling a general line.
- Go to playstation.com/support in a web browser.
- Select the category that matches your problem, such as account and security, purchases, or hardware.
- Follow the self-help articles for that category. If none resolves the problem, use the contact route the guide gives for it.
- Keep your account details and, for hardware issues, the console model and error message ready before you start a contact request.
Account access problems
If you cannot sign in, PlayStation publishes online account recovery guidance. Work through those steps before calling. If you still cannot regain access, PlayStation directs you to its Online Assistant, which is the path the official recovery guidance gives for unresolved cases.

Calling the US number is reasonable when the account question is not resolved online and the official pages point you toward a phone route. It is not a substitute for the recovery steps, because a support agent will usually ask you to confirm the same account information those steps require.
Holiday closures
PlayStation’s support home page reports that support is closed on December 25 and January 1, and has limited hours on December 24 and December 31. The official pages do not publish a regular schedule for the phone line, so do not assume it is open at any particular time on a normal day.

Check before you call
Contact details change. Because the terms were last revised in April 2026, confirm the number on the official support site before you dial, especially if you are reading this article later in the year. If the number on the site differs from the one above, use the site’s version.
Also check whether you are in the United States. Outside the US, PlayStation’s contact options can differ, and the number above should not be assumed to apply there without confirmation on the regional support page.
