Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched on October 25, 2024, but there was no single local unlock time for every player. Microsoft PC used a regional rollout on October 24, while Battle.net PC had a fixed 9 p.m. Pacific Time launch. The times below are a historical schedule, not a current or exhaustive listing for every time zone and platform.
Official Black Ops 6 launch times for PC
Blizzard Entertainment’s 2024 launch announcement set different timing for the two PC storefronts it addressed:
| PC storefront | Official launch timing |
|---|---|
| Microsoft PC | Regional rollout on October 24, 2024, between 4 a.m. and 11 p.m. Pacific Time. Blizzard Entertainment’s launch announcement |
| Battle.net PC | October 24, 2024, at 9 p.m. Pacific Time. Blizzard stated, “The official launch time for players on Battle.net is October 24 at 9PM PT.” Blizzard Entertainment’s launch announcement |
The October 25 release date therefore did not mean that every player’s game unlocked at midnight in their own time zone. Some local launch times fell on the evening of October 24.

Why the time depended on platform
Activision listed Black Ops 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Microsoft PC Store, Steam, Battle.net, Game Pass, and PlayStation 4, with an October 25, 2024 release date. The detailed launch timing cited above specifically describes Microsoft PC and Battle.net PC; it does not establish the exact unlock rule for every other platform. Activision’s Black Ops 6 page

For consoles or other PC storefronts, the available official timing here is not enough to confirm a universal local-midnight release rule. The platform and storefront matter, so the PC times should not be applied to PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Game Pass without a platform-specific announcement.
Preload began before launch
Preloading was separate from being able to play. Blizzard’s announcement said digital PC pre-purchases could begin preloading on October 21, 2024, at 9 a.m. Pacific Time. That is a download availability time, not the game’s unlock time. Blizzard Entertainment’s launch announcement

What the October 25 release date means now
October 25, 2024, is Black Ops 6’s historical release date; the schedule above answers when it launched, not when a new player can currently access it. Activision Support now documents Black Ops 6 as a standalone title across platforms and includes installation steps for console disc owners. That support guidance confirms a disc-installation path, but does not establish current retail stock or pricing. Activision Support’s installation guide
