Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile launched worldwide on March 21, 2024, for iOS and Android. It has since been removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play, and its servers shut down on April 17, 2026, so the game is no longer playable.
When did Warzone Mobile come out worldwide?
Activision announced the worldwide release date on February 28, 2024, then confirmed on launch day that the game was available to download for free on iOS and Android. Its launch-day announcement described it as having arrived worldwide: “Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Mobile has arrived worldwide and is available now to download for free to play on iOS and Android.”

At launch, Warzone Mobile featured Battle Royale on Verdansk and Rebirth Island, alongside Multiplayer maps and modes. It offered customizable mobile controls and accessibility options, and shared progression for XP and weapons with Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare III. Activision reported more than 50 million pre-registrations in its 2024 release-date announcement; that figure refers to registrations, not downloads or players after launch.

Can you still download or play Warzone Mobile?
No. Activision says it removed Warzone Mobile from the Apple App Store and Google Play in May 2025. The publisher then shut the game’s servers down on April 17, 2026, ending play for existing users as well. Its service notice says guest accounts are no longer accessible through the game after shutdown.

Activision’s notice stated: “As a final step in the previously communicated service changes to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, the servers for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will go offline on April 17, 2026, after which the game will no longer be available for play.” The support page confirms that date has passed. Installing an old app build or using an accessory cannot restore access to the offline servers.
What did the worldwide launch include?
- Platforms: iOS and Android, with free-to-play access at launch.
- Battle Royale: Verdansk and Rebirth Island.
- Multiplayer: Maps and modes designed for mobile play.
- Mobile features: Customizable controls and accessibility options.
- Shared progression: XP and weapons could progress across Warzone Mobile and the linked Warzone and Modern Warfare III games.
What happened to players from the limited release?
In guidance published before the worldwide launch, Activision said iOS players needed to download a separate app for the worldwide release, while Android players’ existing build would update. It also recommended using an Activision ID to carry progress forward. Those were instructions for the 2024 launch transition, not a way to install or play the game now. Is Call of Duty: Mobile the same game?
No. Call of Duty: Mobile is a separate game from Warzone Mobile. Activision identified Call of Duty: Mobile as an available mobile alternative in its Warzone Mobile service notice; it is not a continuation of Warzone Mobile or a way to access its servers.
