When did Fortnite downtime end for Chapter 5 Season 4?
GameSpot reported on August 16, 2024, that Fortnite servers were back up just before 6 a.m. ET and the new season was live. This is a retrospective report of when service returned, not a scheduled end time or service commitment from Epic. GameSpot’s launch-day update gives the observed timing.

When did Chapter 5 Season 4 release?
Chapter 5 Season 4 released on August 16, 2024. Epic’s competitive announcement, published that day, described the season as underway. The season was titled “Absolute Doom” and had a Marvel theme, but the key timing is the August 16 launch date.
What time was maintenance announced to start?
Fortnite Status announced that Chapter 5 Season 3 would end at 11 p.m. ET on August 15, 2024, with v31.00 maintenance beginning shortly afterward. That was an announcement of the season’s end and maintenance start—not a promise that downtime would last a particular number of hours. Fortnite News reproduced the announcement; its suggested return-time estimate should not be treated as an official commitment.

How to check when future Fortnite downtime will end
Maintenance timing can vary, so use Epic’s live update channels for a future outage rather than applying the August 2024 timing to another update. Epic Games Support recommends checking its Public Status page and FortniteStatus periodically. Epic also says planned downtime messages appear in-game about 24 hours beforehand. Those notices may provide advance information, but the cited guidance does not establish a guaranteed return time.
