Mangahigh’s U.S. website launch was reported on December 10, 2009. GamesBeat described it as a free online math-games site for students in grades five through ten, following the debut of Mangahigh’s UK site. Those are launch-era details, not confirmation of the service’s current terms or availability.
What Mangahigh launched in the U.S.
GamesBeat’s December 10, 2009 report described Mangahigh as a way to make math practice more engaging by connecting progress in games with solving increasingly complex problems. The site was aimed at students in grades five through ten. The report named seven original offerings:

| Ice Ice Maybe | Estimation and approximation | Using estimates to position icebergs. |
| Save Our Dumb Planet | Algebra, substitution, indices, coordinates, graph plotting, and equations | Progression from linear equations to quadratic and cubic equations. |
| Flower Power | Fractions, decimals, and percentages | The report identified the skills, but did not describe a specific interaction mechanic. |
| Pyramid Panic | Geometry | Problems involving areas and lengths, the Pythagorean theorem, and trigonometry. |
| BIDMAS Blaster | Order of operations | Brackets, indices, division, multiplication, addition, and subtraction. |
| Prodigi | Adaptive math practice | An engine with thousands of problems, solutions, and hints; students, teachers, and parents could tailor practice to mastered skills or areas needing attention. |
The game descriptions and skill coverage above are those given in Dean Takahashi’s GamesBeat report. The report does not establish that these games or features remain available today.
Who was behind the site?
GamesBeat attributed the concept to Toby Rowland, whom it described as a King.com co-founder. It said he partnered with mathematicians, including Marcus du Sautoy, a mathematics professor at the University of Oxford. The report presents them as part of the site’s origins; it does not reproduce a direct quotation from either person.

What the report said about schools and subscriptions
At launch, GamesBeat said Mangahigh was being used in UK schools and that U.S. trials were underway in Tennessee, Nevada, Missouri, and New York. It also reported that the company hoped to earn money through premium subscriptions, including features such as access to thousands of problems suited to an individual child. These are descriptions of the 2009 plans and trials, not evidence of current pricing, subscription options, or U.S. enrollment.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Mangahigh currently available in the U.S.?
The Mangahigh U.S. entry point was observed redirecting to a UK signup/login page that displayed locale choices, including the United States. That page behavior does not establish whether U.S. users can currently enroll or whether the 2009 games and features are still offered. The historical launch report answers when the U.S. site was announced, but current availability remains unsettled by the observed redirect.
