Fortnitemares skins do not all release on one date. Epic puts outfits in Fortnite’s Item Shop on individual dates, which may differ from the event’s start, an update, or a map launch. For 2026, Epic says some collaborations are arriving throughout October but has not given individual dates for those later outfits. Check the live Fortnite Item Shop for what is available now.
Fortnitemares event dates are not skin release dates
When asking when a Fortnitemares skin “comes out,” distinguish between the event schedule and that outfit’s first Item Shop appearance. An event can run for weeks, and an announcement can name outfits planned for the event without dating their Shop arrivals. A map debut is a separate date again.
Epic says the Item Shop constantly rotates its items. That means a past first-release date can tell you when an outfit initially appeared, but it does not establish whether it is in the Shop now or when it will return. Epic’s Item Shop rotation guidance does not promise a particular return date.
What Epic has said about Fortnitemares 2026
In its Oct. 1, 2026 announcement, Epic said Five Nights at Freddy’s outfits were live in the Shop. It also said outfits and accessories associated with A Nightmare on Elm Street, Black Clover, Hollow Knight, 99 Nights in the Forest, Hazbin Hotel, The Purge, Obsession, Slender Man, Beetlejuice, Predator: Badlands, and Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights would follow throughout October. Epic did not give individual Shop dates for those later arrivals.

As of Oct. 8, 2026, “throughout October” is the most specific published timing for that group. It does not identify a particular day for any one outfit. Check the live Shop for current availability and Epic announcements for any later date-specific schedule.
Confirmed Fortnitemares skin dates from earlier years
These are selected dates confirmed by Epic, not a complete calendar of every Fortnitemares cosmetic. Where Epic gives only a broad event window or says an outfit will arrive later, the exact first Shop date is not established by that announcement.

How to check whether a Fortnitemares outfit is in the Shop
- Open Fortnite’s Item Shop in-game or visit the official Item Shop page.
- Look for the named outfit or its featured bundle in the current listings. A past release date does not indicate current availability.
- For a future release, check the relevant Epic announcement. Treat wording such as “later during the event” or “throughout October” as a window, not a precise date.
First release and return are different questions
A skin’s first Item Shop appearance is a historical date. A return is a new Shop appearance, and a prior Fortnitemares release does not establish when—or whether—Epic will bring the outfit back. Epic describes the Shop as constantly rotating, so the reliable way to confirm present availability is to check the current listings.
