Will it launch in Early Access?
Yes. Steam lists the game as planned for Early Access and describes a free Prologue demo. Episode 1 and Episode 2 are planned for the full game. FD Team estimates that Early Access will last around 12 months, but says the timeline may change with development progress and community feedback. This is an estimate, not a promised date for the full release.

Backrooms: Impending Doom is a single-player, first-person psychological horror game. Its story starts in Level 0, where players explore liminal spaces and investigate the traces of a missing research expedition.
