The report does not confirm a release date, cast, writer, director or story. It also does not say whether Keanu Reeves, who played Johnny Silverhand in the game, will appear. Those details remain unconfirmed; there is no basis to treat speculation as casting news. TheWrap’s report
Is this the same project as the Anonymous Content announcement?
That is not established. CD PROJEKT RED announced a live-action collaboration with Anonymous Content on October 5, 2023. At the time, the company described it as a brand-new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, being developed with the game’s creative team, and said the project had begun searching for a screenwriter. In an August 29, 2025 investor-chat transcript, CD PROJEKT VP for Investor Relations Karolina Gnaś said the Anonymous Content project “is still at a very early stage. Such projects typically take a long time, so do not expect any imminent updates on this topic.” The sources reviewed do not explain whether that project is separate from, connected to or superseded by the Paramount film reported in 2026. Why is the game getting another screen adaptation?
