What did EA say about a new Need for Speed game?
In a 2019 “Under the Hood” post, EA’s Need for Speed team said “a new Need for Speed game will be releasing later in 2019!” The post discussed the franchise and promised more information about “the next NFS title,” but did not identify that game as Underground 3. It is historical evidence about an unnamed franchise entry, not a sequel announcement: EA’s 2019 post.
What about EA’s earlier reply on Underground 3?
In a 2013 EA forum thread about Underground 3, community manager EA_Nils replied, “No news yet unfortunately.” That was a response at the time, not a statement of EA’s current plans: the EA forum thread.

Is Need for Speed Underground 2 a new release?
No. Need for Speed Underground 2 is a released predecessor. Nintendo UK lists its Nintendo GameCube edition with a UK release date of 19 November 2004: Nintendo UK’s listing. That historical listing does not establish whether the game is currently available to buy, and it says nothing about a third game.
