Ubisoft has not announced a release date or release window for Tom Clancy’s The Division 3. The latest public status in the reporting available here is from January 2026, when then-executive producer Julian Gerighty said the game was “in production.” That confirms ongoing development, not a launch timeline.
What Ubisoft has confirmed
Ubisoft announced The Division 3 on September 21, 2023, naming Massive Entertainment as the studio leading the project and Julian Gerighty as executive producer for the franchise. Ubisoft said Massive was actively building a team. That announcement did not provide a release date, story details or a measure of the team’s size or progress. GameSpot’s report on the announcement and PCGamesN’s coverage document what was—and was not—shared.
What we know about its development
January 2026: Gerighty called it “in production”
In an interview at the New Game+ Showcase on January 9, 2026, Gerighty said, “The Division 3 is in production, right? This is not a secret; it’s been announced.” He added that it was “shaping up to be a monster.” He also said the team at Massive was working hard on something he believed could have as big an impact as the first Division. These are statements of development status and ambition, not a confirmed schedule or a promise about the finished game. GameSpot’s January 2026 report said Ubisoft had not announced a release window.
Later 2026: Gerighty’s departure and the roadmap
Later 2026 reporting said Gerighty had left Ubisoft. Senior producer Fredrik Brönjemark said the roadmap was “planned and secured for some time already,” adding that the team knew where it was going and what it wanted to do. That is a statement about the team’s planning and direction; it does not give a ship date or guarantee that plans cannot change. Gerighty’s role at Massive in October 2025, reported at the time, is historical and should not be read as confirmation that he remains there. GameSpot’s reporting covers the statements and leadership change.

What has not been announced
The cited announcement and status reports do not establish a release date or window, platform list, setting, plot, or gameplay features. In particular, “in production” does not reveal how close the game is to release. There is no reliable basis in these statements for assigning it a launch year.
Don’t confuse it with other Division projects
The Division 2: Survivors and The Division Resurgence are separate projects. Ubisoft’s August 2025 update described Survivors as an early-stage survival-extraction experience for The Division 2, and Resurgence as a free-to-play mobile RPG shooter MMO. Neither announcement supplies information about The Division 3’s platforms or release timing. Ubisoft’s franchise update covers those projects.

What to play while waiting
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is the released predecessor for readers looking for a game in the series now. It is not The Division 3 and says nothing about the upcoming game’s release timing.
