The last full-account wipe before Escape from Tarkov’s 1.0 release was the Hardcore wipe that began on July 9, 2025. Battlestate Games head Nikita Buyanov had announced on June 16 that there would be one more wipe before release; the game’s announced 1.0 date was November 15, 2025. Later use of “wipe” can refer to a separate seasonal character reset, not necessarily a wipe of permanent-profile progress.
What did “one final wipe before release” mean?
On June 16, 2025, Buyanov wrote: “THERE WILL BE ONE MORE WIPE before RELEASE 🫡,” as reported by Insider Gaming. At that point, it was not yet clear whether the wipe would lead directly into 1.0 or whether another season would come between them.
The July 9, 2025 Hardcore wipe was subsequently reported as the final pre-release wipe. Battlestate later announced November 15, 2025, as the 1.0 release date, according to Insider Gaming’s release-date coverage. So the 2025 headline referred to the last full-account reset on the way to launch—not a promise that the game would never have any kind of reset afterward.
What changed in the July 2025 Hardcore wipe?
BLAST’s July 10, 2025 report described the conditions at the wipe’s launch on July 9. It said the Flea Market was disabled, and only Ground Zero, Factory, and Customs were initially available from the map selection. Players faced limits on storing ammunition, currencies, and most medicines in the secure container. The report also described reduced trader availability, changed sale prices and trader costs, and tougher progression and AI conditions.

Those details are a dated snapshot, not a description of the current game or even a guarantee that every rule lasted unchanged throughout the wipe. BLAST said restrictions could change in waves as players progressed.

Not necessarily. A September 2026 version-stamped guide from Tarkov Field Guide, checked against Patch 1.1.5.0, distinguishes permanent PvP and PvE profiles from an optional seasonal PvP character. The guide describes the 1.0 launch as the final full-account wipe and says permanent profiles retain progression while seasonal characters reset separately.

That guide reports that the seasonal system began with Patch 1.1.0.0 in August 2026 and that seasonal resets were planned every four to six months. These current-mechanics details are the guide’s account; they should not be read as a direct quotation of official patch notes. The important distinction is what is being reset: a separately created seasonal character is not the same thing as wiping permanent PvP or PvE profile progress.
