Where to look for an undead raptor
Start in Maldraxxus and check the area around the House of Plagues. A CyberPost guide dated July 27, 2025 identifies that area, but does not provide a confirmed coordinate or a named raptor spawn. The sources available for this answer do not verify a current spawn timer or precise navigation. If you do not find one there, search nearby Maldraxxus areas and confirm any candidate in the live game rather than relying on an unverified coordinate.
Who can tame undead creatures?
Secondary guides report that Forsaken Hunters can tame undead creatures without an additional unlock. Hunters of other races are reported to need the Simple Tome of Bone-Binding. How to approach the tame
- Check whether your Hunter has the undead-taming ability. If you are a Forsaken Hunter, guides say it is automatic; for other races, check whether you have learned it from the Simple Tome of Bone-Binding.
- Search Maldraxxus, beginning around the House of Plagues, for an undead raptor.
- Once you have the required ability and have found a valid target, use Tame Beast. The available location guide recommends this ability, but does not establish the exact target’s current combat behavior or other encounter details.
Where the tome may come from—and what is uncertain
Guides mention Maldraxxus enemies and the Plaguefall dungeon as possible tome sources. An older FAQ also mentions Theater of Pain, while player comments on the Wowhead item page are anecdotal. CyberPost also claims that entering Shadowlands and completing Bastion’s main story are prerequisites for the tome to drop. A player report on Wowhead conflicts with that account. Because the requirements are not consistently established, treat the campaign claim as unverified rather than a firm prerequisite.

The Simple Tome of Bone-Binding is described as an in-game item; you do not need a physical product to tame the raptor.
