Mohg, the Omen is in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, the sewer dungeon beneath Leyndell, Royal Capital in Elden Ring. The nearest named Site of Grace is Forsaken Depths, and the boss chapel lies beyond it. You reach the dungeon through a well near Avenue Balcony Site of Grace.
How to get to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds
- In Leyndell, Royal Capital, go to the area around Avenue Balcony Site of Grace and find the well that leads down into the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds.
- Work through the sewer dungeon. It is a branching, disorienting network under the capital, so do not rely on memory of a single corridor. Treat Forsaken Depths as your final navigation landmark.
- Reach Forsaken Depths, a Site of Grace in a chamber at the bottom of a cage lift, shortly before the boss fight.
- Continue onward to the chapel arena, where Mohg, the Omen waits.
The reference sources used for this guide give these broad landmarks rather than a turn-by-turn map. If you get lost, the most reliable checkpoint is the cage lift and the Forsaken Depths grace that follows it. The Game8 guide that describes the Avenue Balcony starting point was last updated June 21, 2024, and the Eldenpedia page for the dungeon describes the lift and grace in the same order.
Two different Mohg encounters
Players often mix up two bosses named Mohg. The Omen fight described above is not the same as Mohg, Lord of Blood, so do not follow a Mohgwyn Palace guide if you are looking for this boss.

Why the dungeon is easy to get lost in
The Subterranean Shunning-Grounds is a branching sewer rather than a single linear path, which is why many players wander before finding the lift. The Forsaken Depths grace is the landmark that matters most: once you have reached it, the boss is close by. If you find yourself without that grace, you have not yet reached the lift, so backtrack toward the well and search for the cage.
