Control has more than one safe room, so the answer depends on which one you are looking for. If you are trying to reach the shelter tied to the injured guard and the side mission A Matter of Time, it is in the Logistics area: from the Logistics Control Point, head left toward the large USA map wall, continue past it, and go up one level. A separate safe room sits in the northeast corner of Central Executive.
Which safe room you mean
The game’s safe rooms are spread across the Oldest House rather than gathered in one hub. Player guidance and the game’s own location notes do not establish a single “main” safe room, so it is best to identify the room by its sector and a nearby landmark. The two most commonly asked-about locations are described below.
The Logistics shelter (injured guard and A Matter of Time)
This shelter is the one associated with the injured guard who appears during the side mission A Matter of Time. Community directions place it as follows. These are player-written directions, not an official map citation from Remedy.
- Fast travel to the Logistics Control Point, if it is unlocked for you.
- Head left toward the large USA map wall and continue past it.
- Go up one level using the stairs or by levitating. The shelter and the injured guard are at its entrance.
When the injured guard is not there
Player reports indicate the guard may not appear while enemies are still active in the area. The usual fix is to clear the remaining enemies. If that does not work, leave the area and return; the guard is then expected to be present. Because these reports are informal, treat this as a workaround that has worked for players rather than a documented rule.

The Central Executive safe room
Central Executive contains a separate safe room in the northeast corner of that area. It is not the Logistics shelter and is not connected to the injured-guard side mission, so use the corner of Central Executive as your landmark rather than the Logistics route above.
Do not confuse safe rooms with AWE
AWE, the expansion, is a different case. An official FAQ dated 2020-08-27 says AWE takes place in the Investigations Sector, described as a previously sealed sector of the Federal Bureau of Control. That sector opens through the Executive Sector elevator after you complete The Face of the Enemy, the seventh mission in the main campaign. The expansion begins with A Dark Place. The FAQ covers expansion access only and gives no safe-room locations, so it should not be used to find a shelter.

Practical checklist before you search
- Confirm which mission or side quest you are on; the injured guard only appears in the Logistics context described above.
- Use the Logistics Control Point as your starting landmark for the Logistics shelter, and the northeast corner of Central Executive for that room.
- If a room you expect is missing, clear nearby enemies first and then leave and return to the area.
Directions were compiled from community reports and the 2020 official FAQ and have not been checked against every current patch or platform version, so if a landmark looks different on your copy of the game, follow the same sector and nearby landmark rather than the exact wording.
