There is no authorized digital copy of Need for Speed: Underground 2 for PC that buyers can confirm as currently for sale. Treat any claim that the title is “available on Steam” or “available on EA” as unverified unless the store page itself names this game.

What is established is narrower. An EA Forums customer described buying a used retail version of this title, which confirms that a physical PC copy existed in the retail channel. It does not show that a particular listing is in stock today, what it costs, or whether it will install on your machine.
The used retail disc route
Second-hand marketplaces and local used-game sellers are where a physical copy is most likely to turn up. Because the game is an older PC title, a sale is only as good as the completeness of the package. Before buying, confirm the following:

- All discs are included. The EA Forums example that best illustrates the risk involved a missing disc and a scratched disc, so ask for a photo of each disc face and the case inserts, and confirm the disc numbers match the listing.
- Disc condition is described honestly. Look for requests for close-up photos of the recording surface. Scratches that look minor can cause read errors during installation.
- The serial or code is included. A disc without its original code cannot be installed in a usable way, so ask the seller to confirm the code is on the case or packaging.
- The seller has a return policy. Get the return or exchange terms in writing before you pay, and note whether the window covers a disc that fails to install.
- You have an optical drive. Many current PCs and laptops no longer include a DVD drive. An external USB drive is an inexpensive fix, but confirm you can read the disc format before buying.
If a disc is missing or damaged
EA support does not replace lost or damaged discs for this title in the case cited on its forums. An EA staff response to a buyer who had a missing disc stated: “Our support cannot provide another copy of Disc 2 or a digital version.” The same response directed the buyer back to the original retailer for help with a missing disc, or for a possible refund or exchange.
If you receive an incomplete or unreadable set, work through the seller first:
- Photograph the case, each disc face, and the packaging before you attempt installation.
- Message the seller with the disc number that is missing or unreadable, and request a replacement or refund under their stated policy.
- If the seller does not respond or refuses, use the marketplace’s buyer protection or dispute process, and keep all messages and photos.
- Do not ask EA support for a replacement disc on the strength of this forum response, since the cited answer declines that request.
Why cheap digital keys are a risk
EA warns that unauthorized sellers may offer fake, used, or stolen CD keys or product codes, and says illegally obtained codes may be disabled. A low-priced key listing is therefore not evidence of an authorized copy. If you buy a key without a verifiable seller, you may pay for a code that stops working after purchase, with no recourse through EA.
Will the disc run on a modern PC?
EA says customers can add EA games bought outside the EA app, including physical copies, to their EA app Library. That statement is general. It does not establish that this older disc can be redeemed, installed, authenticated, or played through the app today, and it does not promise that the game runs on current hardware or operating systems.
