Short answer: Walmart Canada is the clearest verified direct-retail option found for the Icon Blue Special Edition DualSense, while U.S. Walmart availability appears uneven and ZIP-code dependent. U.S. shoppers should check Walmart’s website and app, then GameStop, before considering resale listings. The original recommended price was $84.99 in the U.S. and CAD$109.99 in Canada.
Availability note: The evidence summarized here was indexed between late July and early August 2026 for the August 16, 2026 commercial snapshot. Retail inventory can change during the day and may differ by store, postal code, and fulfillment method.

Icon Blue DualSense availability at a glance
| Market | Retailer | Seller | Displayed price | Stock signal | Fulfillment | Last checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Canada | Walmart Canada | Walmart | CAD$109.96 | Purchasable listing indexed | Pickup and delivery shown for a Mississauga-area location | Late July–early August 2026 indexed check |
| United States | Walmart US | Not reliably confirmed nationwide | Current price not verified | Uneven or difficult to locate | Check shipping and store pickup by ZIP code | Late July–early August 2026 indexed check |
| United States | GameStop | Verify at checkout | Current price not reliably exposed | Indexed page showed in-stock signals | Check shipping and local pickup | Late July–early August 2026 indexed check |
| United States | GameStop alternate listing | Verify at checkout | Current price not reliably exposed | Indexed page showed limited-stock signals | Check shipping and local pickup | Late July–early August 2026 indexed check |
A product page is not proof of national inventory. Retailer pages can represent one store, one delivery zone, or a stale inventory record.
Walmart Canada is the strongest verified option
The Walmart Canada listing showed the controller at CAD$109.96, sold and shipped by Walmart, with pickup and delivery options. That is effectively the original Canadian recommended price of CAD$109.99—not a meaningful discount.

- DualSense Controller PS5 and PC compatible. Not compatible with PS4.
- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
The displayed fulfillment example was tied to the Mississauga, Ontario area. It does not establish nationwide availability in Canada, so shoppers in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, or elsewhere should enter their own postal code and select a nearby store before assuming the controller can be collected or delivered.
What U.S. shoppers should do first
- Check Walmart.com and the Walmart app. Search for the full product name, enter your ZIP code, and test both shipping and pickup.
- Search individual nearby stores. A controller may be unavailable for delivery but available for pickup at a particular location.
- Check GameStop. The indexed Icon Blue pages showed in-stock and limited-stock signals. Confirm that the offer is new, identify the seller, and compare shipping, pickup, any Pro-member pricing, and return terms. GameStop exposes more than one product URL, and the inventory status may differ between records.
- Check other major retailers only when the listing is live and specific. Best Buy, Target, Amazon, and PlayStation Direct may be worth searching, but the available evidence did not verify a current official Icon Blue listing there.
Do not call the controller “in stock at Walmart US” without checking the relevant ZIP code or store. The available evidence supports uneven U.S. availability, not a confirmed nationwide inventory position.
What to do when Walmart says it is unavailable
These steps can reveal a location or fulfillment mismatch, but none guarantees a restock:

- Ultra Customizable Controls
- Mappable Back Buttons
- DualSense Wireless Controller Features Built In
- Replaceable Stick Modules and Caps
- Change the ZIP code or postal code to the actual delivery area.
- Toggle between shipping, pickup, and delivery.
- Search nearby stores individually instead of relying on the default store.
- Compare the Walmart app with the desktop site.
- Recheck at different times because online inventory feeds can lag behind store receiving.
- Call a store only after confirming the exact product identity and item number; a generic “blue PS5 controller” description may lead to the wrong model.
- Before using a marketplace listing, verify the seller, condition, warranty route, and return policy.
A store can also cancel an order after checkout if its physical inventory count is wrong.
How much should the Icon Blue controller cost?
| Market | Original recommended price |
|---|---|
| United States | $84.99 USD |
| Canada | CAD$109.99 |
Sony announced the DualSense Wireless Controller – Icon Blue Special Edition for release in the United States and Canada on October 20, 2025, with those recommended prices. Sony’s launch announcement also described the release as a Walmart-exclusive retail and online launch in those markets. Read Sony’s announcement.
Around $84.99 USD or CAD$109.99 is a reasonable direct-retail baseline. A substantially higher price is a scarcity or resale premium unless it includes a legitimate bundle, protection plan, or other clearly stated value. A reported Walmart US price of $64 was a November 2025 Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotion, not a current August 2026 price. TechRadar’s historical deal coverage documents that earlier promotion.

What the Icon Blue edition actually is
This is a standard DualSense Wireless Controller, not a DualSense Edge and not a separately powered pro model. It retains the regular DualSense feature set, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

The identifying design uses a layered blue-and-navy finish, PlayStation branding, heritage-inspired details, and a glossy PlayStation-symbol pattern on the touchpad. Those visual details matter because marketplace searches often mix several blue controllers under similar titles.
How to avoid buying the wrong blue controller
Before paying, confirm all of the following:
- The exact title says DualSense Wireless Controller – Icon Blue Special Edition.
- The product photographs show the layered Icon Blue design and glossy PlayStation-symbol touchpad pattern.
- The seller is Walmart, GameStop, or another clearly identified authorized retailer—not an unknown marketplace seller.
- The item is listed as new if that is what you want; separate used, open-box, and refurbished offers from new retail stock.
- The model, SKU, or retailer item number matches the Icon Blue listing.
- The return policy and warranty route are clear.
Do not confuse it with the Cobalt Blue DualSense or other indigo and blue colorways. Customized controllers and replacement-shell products may also use “Icon Blue” in their search titles without being genuine Sony special editions. The DualSense Edge is a separate premium controller with configurable controls and replaceable stick modules; its different design and higher price do not make it an Icon Blue substitute.

Is it really limited edition?
Sony calls the controller a Special Edition, and its launch announcement framed it as a Walmart release. The available information does not document a precise production quantity or promise that no more units will ever be made. Therefore, a shortage should not automatically be treated as proof that the controller is rare, investment-grade, or permanently discontinued.
Limited retailer allocation, regional distribution, temporary inventory gaps, and discontinued replenishment can all produce scarcity without establishing long-term collector value.

The controller itself is a standard wireless DualSense designed for PS5 use, but buying it from Canada is not automatically a practical substitute for U.S. Walmart stock. Check whether Walmart Canada will ship to the intended U.S. address and account for currency conversion, taxes, duties, shipping restrictions, returns, and warranty handling.

For most U.S. buyers, a domestic authorized retailer is simpler unless the Canadian purchase can be completed locally or its total landed cost and support path are clearly acceptable.
Should you buy now or wait?
Buy now if:
- You specifically want the Icon Blue finish.
- An authorized retailer has a new, returnable unit near MSRP.
- You have confirmed the exact seller, condition, and fulfillment promise.
Keep checking if:
- The only offers are substantially above MSRP.
- A Walmart store near you may have pickup inventory.
- You are flexible about timing or color.
- The listing is live but does not provide a firm delivery or pickup date.
Choose a standard DualSense if:
- You need a controller immediately and care more about function than the finish.
- The Icon Blue premium is large.
- You want broader retailer availability and more frequent discounts.
Choose DualSense Edge only if:
- You need remappable controls, replaceable stick modules, or other pro-controller features.
- You accept the substantially higher price.
DualSense Edge solves a different problem; it is not a value replacement for the Icon Blue design.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Icon Blue controller a regular DualSense?
Yes. It is a standard DualSense Wireless Controller with the normal DualSense feature set, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. It is not a DualSense Edge.
Recommended Free Tools
Is Walmart Canada’s listing available across Canada?
Not necessarily. The indexed listing showed Walmart fulfillment options for a Mississauga-area location. Enter your own postal code to check local delivery or pickup.
Is the $64 price still available?
The $64 Walmart US price was a reported November 2025 Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotion. It should not be treated as the current August 2026 price.
Does low stock prove the controller is rare?
No. Sony uses the term Special Edition, but no precise production limit is established here. Retail allocation and regional inventory gaps can also cause scarcity.
