The latest located reference lists eight Hytale ores and the rock types where each is found, but it does not provide a verified current zone-and-depth map. For players, the reliable starting point is to identify the host rock, bring a suitable pickaxe, and remember that Update 2 changed ore placement across zones. In an existing world, you may need to explore new chunks to encounter the updated distribution.
Where each Hytale ore is reported to spawn
The host-rock associations below come from OrbisHytale’s fan-maintained, game-data-derived reference. It was published September 25 and updated September 26, 2026; the page labels its underlying data October 1, 2026 pre-release, a date later than the displayed update. Treat this as a useful reference, not an official Hypixel Studios spawn table.

These are host-rock associations, not a guarantee that an ore will appear in every exposure of that rock. The official Update 2 notes say the developers made a “Major refactor of ore placement in all zones.” They also report more ore overall, especially in Devastated Lands undergrounds. Older worlds need newly explored chunks to see the refactor.
How to use older zone advice
A January 15, 2026 Pro Game Guides ore guide offered these route ideas:

That advice predates Update 2’s across-the-board placement refactor, so use it as a set of places to test rather than a current, authoritative map. The available sources do not establish each ore’s current zone, depth, or spawn rate.
Hytale’s OreCluster technical documentation describes how the generator selects random height, radius, length, and blocks for ore clusters. It explains a generation system; it does not specify player-facing zone or depth distributions.

Pickaxe progression and mining
OrbisHytale’s suggested route is Copper, then Iron, Silver, and Gold, followed by Thorium and Cobalt, then Adamantite, and finally Mithril. The detailed progression claims come from that fan reference; the official confirmation that matters most for a high-tier target is the Adamantite requirement in the Update 2 notes.
- Adamantite: The Hytale Team says it requires a Thorium or Cobalt Pickaxe. Lower-tier picks deal much less damage to higher-tier ore, while stronger picks significantly reduce the hits required.
- Thorium: OrbisHytale says a Thorium vein can be mined with an Iron Pickaxe, but takes twice as many hits as with a Thorium Pickaxe.
- Other tiers: OrbisHytale groups Iron, Silver, and Gold together for pickaxe performance and Thorium and Cobalt together as a progression tier. The source does not establish a complete official tool-to-ore table.
Ore and ingot drops from creatures
Mining is not the only route reported by the fan reference. Its listed percentages are game-data-derived figures, not probabilities published by Hypixel Studios:

What remains unconfirmed
The strongest current official location information is that ore placement changed across all zones and that the refactor increased ore, particularly in Devastated Lands undergrounds. The sources cited here do not provide an official, current zone-by-zone or depth-by-depth table, nor do they settle natural Mithril availability in the player-facing build. OrbisHytale lists Mithril in stone, but that listing alone does not establish where or whether it naturally spawns in a given current world.
For an existing world, prioritize newly explored chunks after the placement change. Use host-rock matches to guide your search, and treat specific biome routes from older guides as experiments rather than guaranteed coordinates.
