Each entry gives an area rather than an exact pin, and some fights only start after a trigger is met, so reaching the listed area is not always enough. A separate map index published by a third-party site lists 15 World Boss locations, so treat 17 as the count in one guide, not a settled total for the game.
Regional list of World Bosses
The table below uses the English names and areas from the Winds Meet Guide boss index, which states it was checked on April 10, 2026. The area names are reference points. For the exact marker, use the official interactive map or the in-game map, as described further down.
| Region | World boss | Listed area |
|---|---|---|
| Qinghe | Puppeteer – Sheng Wu | Verdant Wilds |
| Qinghe | Sleeping Daoist | Sundara Land |
| Qinghe | Puppeteer – Curtaincall | Sundara Land |
| Qinghe | Earth Fiend Deity | Moonveil Mountain |
| Qinghe | Snake Doctor | Moonveil Mountain |
| Qinghe | Yi Dao | Moonveil Mountain |
| Qinghe | Coffin Master | Mercyheart Monastery |
| Kaifeng | Wolf Maiden | Granary of Plenty |
| Kaifeng | Twin Lions | Granary of Plenty |
| Kaifeng | Ghost Master | Granary of Plenty |
| Kaifeng | Nameless General | Jadewood Court |
| Kaifeng | Feng Ruzhi | Roaring Sands |
| Kaifeng | Drunk Martial Artist | Grand Canal, Jadewood Court |
| Hexi | Wandering Ark | Shifting Sands |
| Hexi | Moongazing Maiden | Jade-Mirrored Spring |
| Hexi | Pocketrupt Circus | Clear-Dew Terrace |
| Hexi | Everdeer | Steed’s Pass |
By region, the guide’s table has seven bosses in Qinghe, six in Kaifeng, and four in Hexi. The Drunk Martial Artist is the only entry listed under two areas.
Why the boss count differs between guides
The Where Winds Meet Handbook map category index at https://wherewindsmeet.th.gl/guides lists 15 World Boss locations. That snapshot was taken around mid-September 2026. It is a third-party index, so its count reflects its own coverage rather than an official roster. Two practical points follow:
#1 Best Overall
- When a boss appears in one guide but not the other, check the in-game map before assuming the boss was removed or never existed.
- Patches can add, move, or rename encounters. Recheck the sources after a major update.
How to find and start a World Boss
- Search by the current English client name. Open the in-game Journal or the map and search the boss name. An older launch-era guide at https://earth.gamerguides.com/where-winds-meet/guide/getting-started/introduction/bosses describes red skull markers and a Journal selection path for these encounters. Confirm that both still appear in your client before relying on them.
- Travel to the listed region and area. Use the table above to identify the zone, then move to the area name.
- Confirm the marker. Open the official interactive map at https://www.wherewindsmeetgame.com/map/en/, which is the publisher’s map tool, or use the in-game map. The guide’s advice is to match the name, region, and area first, then rely on the live marker for the final position.
- If nothing appears, check the trigger. Some encounters require an object, a cave, an island, a sandstorm, or a quest state before the fight is available. Do not assume the location is wrong until you have checked for one of these conditions.
Trigger requirements that block the fight
The area name alone does not guarantee an encounter. The English index flags four kinds of trigger that can stand between you and the boss:
- Objects: an interactable item near the boss spawn point.
- Caves and islands: a location that must be reached through a specific route.
- Sandstorms: an encounter tied to weather conditions in a desert area.
- Quest state: story progress must reach a certain point.
Yi Dao is the clearest example. The index says the encounter requires completing the Blissful Retreat main story chapter and interacting with Yi Dao’s sword before the fight begins. The index does not list a trigger for every boss, so check the entry for the specific encounter you want before traveling.

Older boss names to watch for
Launch-era material uses alternate English labels. The Gamer Guides page reports nine world bosses at global launch and lists names such as Shadow Puppet – Muqi, Earth Wind Deity, and Black God of Wealth. Those names do not match the current English index. Do not treat them as the same encounters unless the map marker and area line up. Use the name shown in your current client or journal, then verify the marker against the official map.

The Winds Meet Guide page at https://windsmeetguide.com/where-winds-meet/bosses gives the most complete English regional table in the sources reviewed. The official site at https://www.wherewindsmeetgame.com/ identifies the game and links to its map and other official sections. The official map landing page confirms the tool exists, but its accessible text did not expose individual pins, so use it to confirm marker positions in your client rather than as a list of bosses.
