Bigfoot is not currently available in Fortnite Chapter 7. The encounter was removed when Chapter 7 Season 2 began on March 19, 2026. Bigfoot was originally found in the woods near Tiptop Terrace during Season 1, then became a randomized neutral boss in the February 5, 2026, v39.40 update.

Is Bigfoot still in Fortnite Chapter 7?

No. As of August 8, 2026, Bigfoot is not part of the Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Royale map. His boss encounter and associated loot were removed from the loot pool on March 19, 2026, when Chapter 7 Season 2 started. A guide that tells you to search for Bigfoot in the current season is therefore describing an earlier Season 1 feature.

Where Bigfoot appeared in Chapter 7 Season 1

During the early part of Chapter 7 Season 1, Bigfoot wandered through the woods near Tiptop Terrace, particularly around Redwood Forest Park on the Golden Coast map. Epic identified Tiptop Terrace as an official Chapter 7 location in its Chapter Seven v39.00 update notes.

This was not a guaranteed spawn at one precise tree or map marker. Bigfoot moved through the forest, could not be interacted with, was invulnerable, and disappeared when players got too close. Finding the forest area did not guarantee that you would see him in every match.

Bigfoot’s temporary boss locations after v39.40

Update v39.40, released on February 5, 2026, changed Bigfoot from a sighting-only character into a neutral combat boss. During that short period, he could appear at any one of these reported boss zones:

These were possible locations, not guaranteed spawn points. The game randomized the boss location from match to match. The change is documented in the Epic Developer Community v39.40 release notes.

How players found the boss version

  1. Travel to one of the possible boss zones.
  2. Move close enough for the area to reveal its nearby boss indicator.
  3. Look for a skull wearing a crown on the minimap.
  4. Investigate the area to identify which boss spawned.

The skull-and-crown icon did not identify Bigfoot specifically. It only indicated that a boss was nearby, so seeing it was not proof that Bigfoot had spawned.

There was no special menu, command, item, or guaranteed tracking option for locating him. Checking the possible boss zones and responding to the nearby indicator was the practical method during the boss period.

Why older Bigfoot guides can be misleading

“Go to Tiptop Terrace and Bigfoot will be there”

That advice is incomplete. Tiptop Terrace and Redwood Forest Park were associated with the original wandering version, but his appearance was not guaranteed. After v39.40, the encounter used randomized boss zones instead.

“Bigfoot can always be shot”

Only during the limited boss period from February 5 through March 18, 2026. The earlier forest version was invulnerable and disappeared when approached.

“The skull-and-crown icon means Bigfoot spawned”

Not necessarily. The icon marked a nearby boss, not Bigfoot by name.

“Bigfoot is a normal NPC you can talk to”

He was not a standard vendor or dialogue NPC in Chapter 7. He was either a non-interactive wandering character or, after v39.40, a combat boss.

Bottom line

You cannot find Bigfoot in the current Chapter 7 Season 3 Battle Royale map. If you are researching the historical Chapter 7 Season 1 encounter, look first around Redwood Forest Park near Tiptop Terrace for the original wandering version, or check the eight randomized boss zones for the temporary v39.40 boss version. Neither method works in the current season because the encounter and its loot were removed on March 19, 2026.
