Blaidd moves between locations as Ranni’s quest advances. Before the Radahn Festival, look for him in Siofra River after meeting Ranni; if the festival is already active, check Redmane Castle instead. After defeating Radahn, check beside his arena and at the Forlorn Hound Evergaol. Much later, Blaidd’s final encounter is outside Ranni’s Rise.

Where to find Blaidd at each quest stage
Mistwood Ruins
Blaidd’s early encounter is in Mistwood, Limgrave. The in-game clue involves hearing his howl and using the Finger Snap gesture. Treat this as an introductory encounter rather than a required stop for every later stage: his location and available dialogue change as the connected quest progresses.
Forlorn Hound Evergaol
Blaidd can be involved in the optional Darriwil encounter at the Forlorn Hound Evergaol. The Evergaol is also worth revisiting after Radahn for progression dialogue; it is not the entrance to Nokron.

Ranni’s Rise and Siofra River
Begin Ranni’s quest at Ranni’s Rise and speak with the characters she introduces. In the usual pre-festival route, Blaidd’s next investigation leads to Siofra River as he looks for a way to reach Nokron. If you cannot find him there, check whether the Radahn Festival has already started.
Redmane Castle during the Radahn Festival
When the festival is active, Blaidd may be at Redmane Castle. This progression state can bypass the Siofra investigation, so his absence there does not by itself mean the quest is broken.

After defeating Starscourge Radahn
Radahn’s defeat opens a crater in Limgrave that leads to Nokron. If Blaidd is present beside the Radahn arena, speak to him, and then revisit the Forlorn Hound Evergaol for related dialogue. Continue with Ranni’s objective in Nokron.
Late Ranni quest: outside Ranni’s Rise
After obtaining the Dark Moon Ring and defeating Astel, Blaidd appears as a hostile encounter outside Ranni’s Rise. This is a late milestone in Ranni’s larger quest, not a return to one of the earlier investigation locations.

If Blaidd is missing
Use your current Ranni and Radahn progress to pick the next likely location rather than assuming you have failed the quest.
- Festival active: Check Redmane Castle; Siofra River may no longer be the relevant stop.
- Radahn defeated: Check beside the arena if Blaidd is there, then revisit the Forlorn Hound Evergaol for dialogue.
- Dark Moon Ring obtained and Astel defeated: Look outside Ranni’s Rise for the late encounter.
The route is flexible, and not every Blaidd encounter is a required step. The locations above are tied to progression states; an apparent absence alone is not evidence of a bug.
