The most fully described early Eevee is in a grassy courtyard in Lumiose City’s Vert Sector, which opens once you reach the Side Missions portion of Main Mission 5. Other guides place rooftop Eevee elsewhere in the city, and they do not agree on the sector labels, so use the landmarks in this guide rather than a sector name alone.
The early Eevee route in Vert Sector
Nintendo Life gives the most detailed early route. The area becomes available after you reach Side Missions during Main Mission 5, “The City in the Shadow of Prism Tower.” The game is available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and the route works the same way on either console.
- Progress through Main Mission 5 until Emma introduces Side Missions.
- Fast travel to the Pokémon Research Lab near Wild Zone 1.
- Head up Vernal Avenue.
- Turn right after the Hair Salon.
- Turn right into the courtyard labeled Vert Sector 9.
- Look for Eevee in the grassy area.
Pocket Tactics also reports grass at Vert Sector 9 above Wild Zone 1, which matches the Nintendo Life description of the courtyard.
Catching Eevee
Nintendo Life’s advice is to engage Eevee in battle and throw a Poké Ball once it is stunned. The same guide warns that Eevee can run if it is alerted too early or if you make too many risky throws. Keep these points in mind:

- Venture into Hyperspace Lumiose in this additional story content that can be accessed after completing the main game
- Work with the mysterious baker, Ansha, to make donuts that awaken the Mythical Pokémon Hoopa’s power and grant you and your Pokémon a variety of useful effects
- Join Team MZ and the Mega Evolution Successor, Korrina, to investigate Hyperspace Lumiose, the otherworldly home to rare and hyper-strong Pokémon
- Discover new Mega Evolutions such as Mega Raichu X, Mega Raichu Y, Mega Chimecho and Mega Baxcalibur
- Claim Holo-X and Holo-Y in-game apparel items, which you can wear as soon as you are able to customize your character’s look and outfit in the main game
- Start the battle before approaching too closely, since an alerted Eevee can flee.
- Wait for the stun before throwing a Poké Ball rather than throwing on the first turn.
- Limit throws that carry a risk of failure, because repeated failed attempts can make Eevee run.
Other reported rooftop locations
Each location below comes from the guide that reported it. None has been independently confirmed, and the sources describe different landmarks.
| Source | Sector label given | Landmark described | Notes from the report |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Life | Vert Sector 9 | Grassy courtyard above Wild Zone 1, reached via Vernal Avenue and the Hair Salon turn | Early route that opens after Side Missions in Main Mission 5 |
| Pocket Tactics | Vert Sector 9 | Grass above Wild Zone 1 | Reports the same grassy area as Nintendo Life |
| Siliconera | Bleu Sector 7 | Scaffolding leading up to a rooftop, near Nouveau Cafe Truck No. 7 | The author reports seeing Eevee on the roof during the day |
| GameSpot | Bleu Sector 7 | Rooftop near Nouveau Cafe Truck No. 2 | Notes that Eevee may not always respawn |
| PowerPyx | Magenta Sector 9 | Rooftops northwest of Lumiose City near Quasartico Inc. | Not stated in this report |
Bleu Sector 7 scaffolding
Siliconera describes climbing scaffolding near Bleu Sector 7 to reach a rooftop. The gap between the scaffolding and the roof can make positioning awkward. Siliconera’s advice is to start the battle to help keep Eevee from falling into that gap. The cafe truck numbers differ between Siliconera (No. 7) and GameSpot (No. 2), so match the rooftop to the sector and the scaffolding rather than to a single truck number.

- Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free.
- As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.
Why the sector labels do not match
The guides place early rooftop Eevee in three different sectors: Vert Sector 9, Bleu Sector 7, and Magenta Sector 9. None of the reports explains the difference, and the Vert Sector route is the only one with a step-by-step path from a named landmark. Treat each report as a separate location to check. If Eevee is not in one spot, look for the landmark described in another report before assuming the spawn is gone.

GameSpot places Eevee in Wild Zone 19 in the northeastern part of the map. It reports a level of around 48 to 50 and says the area is available later in the campaign. PowerPyx ties Wild Zone 19 to progress through Main Mission 30, “Reaching Rank B.” These are guide reports and have not been independently verified, so confirm the Main Mission 30 milestone in your own save before you travel there.
