In Dying Light: The Beast, search groves for plants, electrical shops and devices for wiring and batteries, pharmacies and bathrooms for medical or mod ingredients, and vehicles or gas stations for fuel. The locations below are typical scavenging categories from a guide updated September 29, 2025—not guaranteed drops or exact map coordinates.

Plan a scavenging route around what you need
For a mixed supply run
Combine one electrical store, one pharmacy, one vanity store, and one grove. This route covers several crafting categories: electrical components, pharmacy and bathroom ingredients, loot associated with vanity stores, and plants gathered outdoors.
For Scrap and weapon repairs
Check tool or hardware stores, Dark Zones, and enemy loot. Scrap is used broadly in crafting and is also needed for frequent weapon repairs; the Epic Games Store beginner’s guide also notes that dismantling a weapon can return Scrap.

#1 Best Overall
For electrical components and weapon mods
Search electrical stores and loot electrical devices for Wiring and Electrical Parts. Battery uses the same search category. For Pigments and Oxidizers, try bathrooms and pharmacies; for Cleaning Supplies, check kitchens and general stores.
For plants and animal-related materials
Sweep groves and plant-heavy outdoor areas for Honey, Lavender, Chamomile, Cordyceps, and Poppy. Look for Feathers in groves as well as fashion or vanity stores. Enemy loot and fashion or vanity stores are the guide’s suggested places for Rags and Leather.
Rank #2
For Fuel and Gun Parts
Check car wrecks and gas stations for Fuel. For Gun Parts, dismantle spare firearms or check vendors. The beginner guide also describes gathering fuel from abandoned cars and gas stations for driving.
Use crafting materials to support survival
Scavenged materials and blueprints enable items such as bandages and medkits, throwing knives, grenades, decoys, melee weapons, guns, and weapon mods. Blueprints and weapons can be upgraded for better damage or utility. Melee weapons lose durability, and repairs consume Scrap and other resources; dismantling a weapon can return Scrap, according to the Epic Games Store beginner’s guide.

The material guide recommends prioritizing Bandage upgrades early and also calls out Hand Grenades, Throwing Knives, and the UV Flashlight. It says Manual Pages found in Dark Zones upgrade blueprints, reduce costs, and improve performance. These are the guide’s recommendations rather than a tested ranking of the best upgrades.

Treat each location as a useful search pattern, not a fixed spawn or guaranteed container. Exact coordinates for every material and an item-by-item comparison across current game modes are not established by the available guides. Techland’s Restored Land editions FAQ explains edition and upgrade context, but does not document material locations or confirm that the 2025 guide’s spawn categories were reverified for every edition or mode.
