The Living Forest, The Pit and The Dead Pool were Mortal Kombat crossover landmarks on Fortnite Battle Royale’s Chapter 6 Season 2 map, and they are no longer in the game. The directions below are historical. They explain where each site sat on the map, not how to reach it today.
Where each landmark was
The Living Forest
The Living Forest sat in the forest between Whiffy Wharf and Lonewolf Lair, above ground. It is the easiest of the three to describe because it was a surface location with no underground or bridge component. A community-maintained Fortnite wiki dates it to Chapter 6 Season 2 and says update v35.00 replaced it with Sleepwalker’s Camp.

The Pit
The Pit was at a narrow bridge east of Shining Span. Its position was defined by that bridge rather than by a building or named structure, so it was easy to miss if you were not looking for the crossing itself.
The Dead Pool
The Dead Pool was beneath the bank at Masked Meadows. Access was underground. The historical route, as described in GamesRadar’s Scorpion guide, was to descend an outside ascender and then follow the pipes into the underground area.

When they were removed
The Living Forest and The Dead Pool are both recorded as removed on May 2, 2025. Those dates come from the community-maintained Fortnite wiki rather than from an Epic Games announcement, so treat them as community-recorded dates. The Pit was part of the same seasonal change, but a separate exact removal date for it was not established in the sources reviewed, so this guide does not give one.
The Scorpion encounter
During the crossover, Scorpion appeared at one of the three locations in a given match, according to GamesRadar. Players found a glowing gong and interacted with it to start the fight. Because the sites are gone, that encounter is documented only as Season 2 guidance. The sources reviewed do not establish that it can be triggered in the current game.

Checking for current quests
If you are looking for an active quest rather than the old map, Epic Player Support recommends launching a Fortnite experience and opening Quests from the lobby. Quests differ between experiences, so a quest you see in one mode will not necessarily appear in another. None of the current quests should be assumed to point to these removed sites.
Which season is current
Epic’s Fortnite season page listed Chapter 7 Season 4: Override as the current season when this guide was checked. Seasons change regularly, so confirm the current one on Epic’s Fortnite site before relying on any season-specific detail.

Sources and limits
- Location directions for all three sites come from GamesRadar’s historical Scorpion guide.
- The Living Forest and Dead Pool removal dates and the Living Forest replacement come from a community-maintained Fortnite wiki, not from Epic.
- No official Epic patch note confirming removal for all three sites was located, so the removal dates above are community-recorded.
- Quest navigation steps come from Epic Player Support.
Directions here describe the map as it was during Chapter 6 Season 2. They are useful for understanding older Fortnite content and the crossover’s layout, not for navigating the current island.
There are no current equivalents to compare, because these sites are no longer destinations.
