Where to look for Orb Weaver Eggs
Start in the Fire Pit and search the hedge. Check the higher portions where webs are visible, including around the Optical Disk. The Orb Weaver Egg entry describes eggs as stuck in webs in the higher parts of the hedge, and the Grounded 2 resources list also places them inside the Fire Pit hedge.
Use landmarks as search cues
A quest walkthrough also names spots underneath Headless BURG.L and the KLBB11 News Camera as places to check. These are examples, not confirmed guaranteed spawns or an exhaustive list; search the surrounding hedge and webs rather than expecting an egg at either landmark every time. The walkthrough does not provide a precise map coordinate.

Carrying an Orb Weaver Egg lets nearby Orb Weavers sense you from farther away, according to the quest walkthrough. Decide on your route and destination before taking it, so you are ready to move toward the Hatchery or storage instead of planning while carrying it.

How long the egg lasts and how to store it
An Orb Weaver Egg becomes Rotten after 72 in-game hours, according to the Orb Weaver Egg entry. If you are not ready to use it, place it in Egg Storage: the Egg Storage entry says storage suspends spoilage and holds one egg at a time.
What Orb Weaver Eggs are for
A Hatchery uses an Orb Weaver Egg to create an Orb Weaver Buggy. If that is your goal, plan the trip back to the Hatchery before collecting the egg.
