To clear a bounty in Crimson Desert, go to a Confessional and select the “Buy Writ of Absolution” interaction. Game8 names Alfred at the Church of Hernand as an option, and Games.gg says the Confessional menu lists your active fines and bounties so you can choose which to pay. The guides also describe a second route: getting arrested and serving a jail sentence, which can clear the wanted status without paying at a Confessional, but with possible costs.
Where the Confessional is
The Church of Hernand is the early-game Confessional that the guides point to first. Greymane Codex lists further Confessional locations at Calphade, Pailune, Demeniss, and Delesyia. It says some of these may only become available as the story progresses, and it describes the Pailune Confessional as a standalone stall rather than a location inside a church. Games.gg adds that the writ is sold by a Confessional vendor inside any Church in the region of Pywel.

How to pay a bounty at a Confessional
- Travel to the nearest Confessional you can reach. The Church of Hernand is the early option the guides name.
- Talk to the Confessional vendor and open the interaction menu.
- Select “Buy Writ of Absolution.”
- Check the list of active fines and bounties. Each entry is tied to a region and an amount.
- Choose the bounty you want to clear and pay the silver shown.
Confirm the region and amount on the screen before paying. Guides say the menu is the reliable reference, and amounts are reported to vary by game state.

Paying in another region
Guides say cross-region payment may be possible. One guide states that any Confessional can clear debts for other regions. No official documentation confirms this behavior. If you are in a different region from the one where the bounty was issued, open the writ menu and see whether the listed bounty can be selected before traveling back.
Bounties and bank fines are separate
A bounty and a bank-access fine are described as separate systems, and they are cleared in different ways. Game8 says a tax-related fine can stop you from using a bank in the region where it was imposed. You pay it by speaking with the guard outside that bank. According to Game8, a fine like this does not on its own make you wanted. A bounty is what sends guards after you, and it is the bounty that a Confessional or jail can clear. The guide reports a 50-silver bank fine as an example of the gameplay amount involved.
Arrest and jail as an alternative
The guides describe arrest and serving a jail sentence as a way to clear a bounty without paying at a Confessional. They also report two possible costs. The first is loss of Contribution. The second is debt if you cannot cover the amount owed. These are third-party guide claims, and they may depend on game state or the game version, so do not assume them to be guaranteed outcomes.
