To reach Storybook Vale in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you need to own the paid Storybook Vale Expansion Pass, collect the Royal Tools, then travel through the Stardust Port in Dream Castle. The Lorekeeper’s letter in your in-game mailbox points you toward the expansion; the first area you enter is The Bind.

Before you travel: make sure you own the expansion

Storybook Vale is paid downloadable content, not a biome unlocked by ordinary progress in the base Valley. Check that the Storybook Vale Expansion Pass is owned for the platform and account you are playing on. Editions and bundles differ, so confirm the contents in your platform’s store before buying. Gameloft lists purchase configurations and platform channels in its Storybook Vale purchase-options guide; its expansion page describes the available editions. The Steam listing identifies the PC version as DLC that requires the base game: Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale on Steam.

How to get to Storybook Vale

  1. Collect the Royal Tools. If you have not done so, find and collect the Royal Tools in the base Valley.
  2. Check your in-game mailbox. Gameloft’s launch instructions say the Lorekeeper sends a letter after you collect the tools. Read the message to start the route to the Vale.
  3. Go to Dream Castle and enter the Stardust Port. This is the in-game travel hub for the expansion. If you have not discovered the Stardust Port, speak with Merlin for help finding it.
  4. Choose the Storybook Vale route. The first destination is The Bind. Mythopia and Everafter are the other regions of the Vale.

These steps follow Gameloft’s Storybook Vale Part One announcement, published November 20, 2024.

If the letter or route is missing

  • Verify ownership first. Check your platform store and the edition tied to the account you are using. Some purchase configurations include the base game, while the standalone expansion requires it.
  • Confirm you collected the Royal Tools. The official first-visit instructions place the Lorekeeper’s mailbox message after this step.
  • Look for the Stardust Port in Dream Castle. If you have not found it, ask Merlin for help.
  • If you own the pass and have completed these steps but still cannot access it, the official pages cited here do not identify a definitive fix for every access problem. Check the platform’s purchase record and current Gameloft support guidance rather than assuming a particular cause.

What is in Storybook Vale?

The Vale’s first area is The Bind, followed by Mythopia and Everafter. The expansion’s story was released in two parts: Gameloft’s official patch notes say Part 2 arrived July 9, 2025 for Expansion Pass owners and concluded the pass’s final chapter. See the official Part 2 patch notes.
