The Ghost of Tsushima-inspired helmet and mask in Ghost of Yōtei come from a Mythic Tale called The Storm Blade. Start it by finding Ugetsu the Storyteller at the Forgotten Shrine on Oshima Coast. The quest rewards are the Stag Helmet and the Ghost Mask, which Game8’s walkthrough lists as separate pieces.
Where the quest starts
The Storm Blade is the only route to these rewards that the walkthrough identifies. Work through it in this order:

- Travel to Oshima Coast. Locate the Forgotten Shrine, the landmark where Game8’s walkthrough places Ugetsu and the start of the tale.
- Speak with Ugetsu the Storyteller. Starting his tale launches the Jin Sakai-themed Mythic Tale.
- Follow The Storm Blade’s clues and complete its encounters. The quest carries the Stag Helmet and Ghost Mask, along with a Storm Blade sword reward.
- Check your item menu after completion. Confirm the names and gear slots in the game’s own inventory. The walkthrough supports the names and the quest link, but not the stats or cosmetic options.
What you receive
Stag Helmet
The Stag Helmet is the headgear reward associated with The Storm Blade. Treat it as a separate piece from the mask rather than part of a single named set, unless the in-game item menu uses that wording.
Ghost Mask
The Ghost Mask is the face-covering reward from the same quest. It is the in-game item and does not require any real-world purchase.

Two different “masks”
Sony’s Collector’s Edition announcement, dated 2025, includes a physical Atsu Ghost mask replica. It is made of resin and measures approximately 6.8 × 5 × 5.9 inches. It is a display collectible, not the Ghost Mask reward, and it does nothing for the quest. Do not confuse the two when searching for the in-game item.
Timing and what remains unconfirmed
Game8’s walkthrough and a secondary source disagree on where the quest falls in the main story. One secondary walkthrough says it becomes reachable during a Chapter 2 main quest, but no official source confirms that timing. The quest log will show when The Storm Blade becomes available in your playthrough, so you do not need to match a chapter number to start it.

Official PlayStation material describes Ghost of Yōtei as a standalone story set in rural Japan in the 1600s, roughly 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima. That context explains why the Jin Sakai reward is a nod to the earlier game rather than a continuation of its plot.
Buying context
No controller accessory, consumable, or additional purchase is needed to complete The Storm Blade. The only purchase relevant to this quest is the game itself. PlayStation’s announcement gave the standard edition’s launch price as $69.99 USD, £69.99, €79.99 and ¥8,980. That figure is the announcement-era MSRP, not a current price, so check the PlayStation Store or your retailer before buying.

Official cosplay reference
Sony’s official cosplay guide covers Atsu’s Onryō appearance and accessories. It is useful for costume planning, but it is not a source for where to find the quest or its rewards.
