As of October 2026, the latest indexed item reference says the Lock On Assault Rifle is vaulted in Fortnite Battle Royale, so it should not appear in that mode’s standard loot pool. The same reference reports that it remains available in Creative and UEFN, where access depends on the island and its settings. This weapon-specific status comes from a third-party reference, not a current Epic Games confirmation.
Where can you find the Lock On Assault Rifle?
| Mode | Reported availability | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Battle Royale | The latest indexed Lock On Assault Rifle reference says it is vaulted in Battle Royale. Fortnite Wiki’s item reference | Do not search for a particular chest, NPC, or spawn point based on that status; the reference does not list a current Battle Royale location. |
| Creative and UEFN | The same reference reports that the weapon remains available in Creative and UEFN. Fortnite Wiki’s item reference | Look for an island that provides access to the weapon. Availability can vary by island and creator settings; no particular island or map code is established here. |
How to check whether its status has changed
The item-specific status above is not an official Epic confirmation and may become outdated. Check Epic’s current Fortnite news and update notes, then verify in the mode you plan to play. Epic’s public status page reports service health; it does not establish an individual weapon’s loot-pool status.
Mode matters: Epic’s v41.20 Reload Update Notes list items vaulted and unvaulted specifically for Reload, illustrating that an item’s status can differ by mode. That update does not confirm the Lock On Assault Rifle’s current Battle Royale status.
What “vaulted” means
Epic’s Fortnite documentation defines vaulted items as items that were released and later made unavailable. Epic lists general reasons an item might be vaulted, including balance, low use, limited-time availability, or glitches. Those examples do not establish why this specific rifle was vaulted.

Will it return to Battle Royale?
No return date is established by the available item reference or the cited Epic guidance. Epic’s Item Shop guidance concerns rotating shop inventory; it does not say when a gameplay weapon will return to a loot pool. Check current mode-specific update notes for any confirmed change.
