The Phantom Armor set in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is split among three locations: the Phantom Helmet is in Puffer Beach Overhead Cave, the Phantom Armor is in Tamio River Downstream Cave, and the Phantom Greaves are in the Ancient Altar Ruins. Use those landmarks to navigate; guide coordinates differ slightly between sources.

Phantom Armor locations at a glance

Piece Location Guide coordinates What to expect
Phantom Helmet Puffer Beach Overhead Cave, Faron 0275, -3852, 0003 (GameSpot) The cave entrance is overhead; nearby Zonai Rockets can help you reach it.
Phantom Armor Tamio River Downstream Cave, between the Gerudo Highlands and Satori Mountain -2968, -0981, 0035 (GameSpot) GameSpot reports Gloom Hands in the large cavern. Keep left while gliding down.
Phantom Greaves Ancient Altar Ruins, eastern Gerudo -2504, -3702, 0010 (GameSpot) Several quicksand pools are present; one leads to the chest. A Molduga may be nearby.

These are guide references, not a single agreed coordinate set. Nintendo Life names the same locations but gives nearby coordinates: 0297, -3777, 0051 for the helmet; -2968, -0924, 0035 for the body armor; and -2522, -3737, -0030 for the greaves. Treat the cave or ruin name as the primary landmark rather than trying to reconcile the differing figures. GameSpot’s location guide and Nintendo Life’s guide provide the respective references.

Where to find the Phantom Helmet

Puffer Beach Overhead Cave

Look for Puffer Beach in Faron and locate the cave entrance above you rather than expecting a ground-level opening. GameSpot lists 0275, -3852, 0003 and describes using nearby Zonai Rockets to gain access. Nintendo Life places the cave southwest of Highland Stable and lists 0297, -3777, 0051. Because the coordinates differ, use the overhead-cave landmark to confirm you are at the right spot.

Where to find the Phantom Armor

Tamio River Downstream Cave

The body piece is in Tamio River Downstream Cave, by the river between the Gerudo Highlands and Satori Mountain. GameSpot’s reference is -2968, -0981, 0035; Nintendo Life gives -2968, -0924, 0035. GameSpot warns of a Gloom Hands encounter in the large cavern and recommends keeping left as you glide down. Be prepared for that reported hazard while searching for the chest.

Where to find the Phantom Greaves

Ancient Altar Ruins

The greaves are in the Ancient Altar Ruins in eastern Gerudo. GameSpot lists -2504, -3702, 0010. Nintendo Life identifies the area as East Barrens, south of Siwakama Shrine, with coordinates -2522, -3737, -0030. The ruins contain several quicksand pools; one leads to the chest. GameSpot also notes a possible nearby Molduga, so watch the surrounding area as you search.

What the Phantom set does

GameSpot’s 2023 guide reports that each piece provides +8 defense and an attack boost. Wearing all three therefore gives +24 defense from the pieces. The cited guides do not establish a separate set bonus, so the reported attack boost should not be mistaken for a documented bonus that activates only when the full set is worn. GameSpot’s guide is the source for these effect figures.

Which piece should you look for first?

Choose based on the route obstacle you would rather handle, not an assumed difficulty ranking: the helmet means reaching an overhead entrance, the body armor route includes a reported Gloom Hands encounter, and the greaves require finding the correct quicksand pool. The available guides do not provide consistent evidence to rank these detours by time or overall difficulty.
