To start Ai Ebihara’s Moon Social Link in Persona 4 Golden, reach Rank 4 in the Strength Social Link, have Courage level 3 (Brave), then speak to Ai on the first floor of the Classroom Building and accept her invitation to skip class. Meet her on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday when it is not raining, and choose carefully: the wrong response can reverse or break the link.
How to unlock Ai’s Moon Social Link
- Raise the Strength Social Link to Rank 4.
- Reach Courage level 3, titled Brave.
- After meeting those requirements, find Ai on the first floor of the Classroom Building.
- Accept her invitation to skip class to begin the Moon Social Link.
Ai’s invitation is the start trigger; simply finding her before meeting the requirements will not unlock the link. The game is available on Windows and Steam, according to Atlus’s official Persona 4 Golden site.
Where and when to find Ai
Ai’s listed regular availability is Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at Classroom Building 1F. She is unavailable on rainy days. A GameFAQs walkthrough gives February 2 as her final available date; treat that as the guide’s stated cutoff, since the calendar and event progression can affect the schedule in a playthrough.
Safe choices for the early ranks
These responses are a safe path through the first ranks. A Persona matching the Moon Arcana can add affinity when you spend time with Ai, so the exact point totals reported by guides may depend on whether you have one equipped. Prioritize the response text rather than relying on a fixed point number.

| Rank event | Recommended response | Risk to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Rank 1 to 2 | “We’ll have to come back.” For Ai’s iced-latte request, “Buy it yourself” is also listed as favorable. | No specific reversal warning is given for this event. |
| Rank 2 to 3 | “Let’s just chill.” | Do not choose “That was downright cruel…” when Ai rejects someone; the guide warns that this reverses the link. |
| Rank 3 to 4 | “Stop them” is favorable and also gives Strength-link affinity. “Hey, let’s go” is another listed response. | No specific reversal warning is given for this event. |
| Rank 4 to 5 | “Have a little confidence.” | Do not choose “Not gonna happen!” when Ai asks for a favor; the guide warns that this reverses the link. |
A reversal is not just a missed affinity bonus: Ai’s link can be reversed or broken. Treat her later dialogue with care as well, rather than assuming every unlisted option is harmless.
What to choose at Rank 6: friends or temporary lovers?
At Rank 6, the link branches. The choice changes when romance begins and what options remain later.

- Both Major & Minor Arcana
- Rigid Storage Box w/ Matte Finish
| Route | When romance begins | What happens later | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Normal route: remain friends | No relationship begins at Rank 6. | You retain the option to start a lasting romantic relationship at Rank 10. | The romance decision is delayed. |
| Temporary lovers route | You begin dating Ai earlier. | Later events can end in friendship or leave the Social Link broken. | The earlier relationship has difficult outcomes; it does not guarantee a lasting romance. |
If you want the option of a lasting romance, stay friends at Rank 6 and make the relationship decision at Rank 10. The Steam community guide lists route-specific later dialogue choices; because these are community instructions, use the game’s displayed prompt as the authority if wording differs in your version or localization.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Using a Moon Persona and link rewards
Carry a Persona of the Moon Arcana when meeting Ai if you can. Its affinity bonus can help you reach the next rank with fewer extra hangouts. One community guide names Asura as Moon’s ultimate Persona, while a GameFAQs walkthrough names Sandalphon in connection with Ai and lists the Compact as a key item. Those sources conflict on the ultimate Persona attribution, so neither identity is established here as definitive.
