Where to find the Substation Repair Kit
Go to the power plant in the southern part of the Paradise Island map. The Gamerpillar walkthrough, published October 30, 2025, places the kit on a workbench in the maintenance area below the plant platform. See the Gamerpillar walkthrough.

How to get inside and retrieve it
- Go below the power plant platform and look along the side of the building for a metal grate.
- Enter through the grate. The walkthrough says you need the Nimble trait or Sneak Level 2 or higher.
- Pick up the Substation Repair Kit from the workbench in the maintenance area.
- Return to the main level using the ladder.
- Use the kit at the power terminal to restore power.

Can you restore power without the kit?
Yes. The Gamerpillar guide identifies Engineering Level 3 or the Innovative trait as alternative ways to restore power manually. If your character has either, you can use that route rather than retrieving the kit.

What “Substation Repair Kit” means here
This article concerns a quest item in The Outer Worlds 2, not equipment for repairing a real electrical substation. Industrial electrical products are specialized: PFISTERER’s catalogue, for example, lists a Universal Repair Kit among cable accessories and separately describes its ESF123-C31L 123 kV flexible outdoor termination as suitable for substation applications.
