You do not need to find a trekking pole on the ground in Heartopia. In Naughty’s Treasure Hunt gossip quest, ask Vernie about it in the Flower Fields, then return to Naughty on Onsen Mountain. Multiple walkthroughs report that these conversations advance the quest and award a Retro Desk Lamp.
How to unlock Naughty’s Treasure Hunt quest
Walkthroughs report that the Treasure Hunt becomes available after two separate material-delivery story requests: one involving Cassie and one involving Naughty. The requests may appear randomly. After completing them, watch the map for an orange gossip marker; when it appears for Naughty, speak with him to start the trekking pole objective. This sequence comes from third-party guides rather than an official quest reference, so follow the in-game quest text if your objectives differ. Phrasemaker’s guide and AllThings.how’s walkthrough describe the reported unlock sequence.
Where to ask about the trekking pole
- Speak with Naughty on Onsen Mountain. Start the Treasure Hunt request and review the leads he gives you. Guides report that he mentions the Fishing Village and the Flower Fields.
- Go to Vernie in the Flower Fields. Ask her about the trekking pole. Vernie is identified as the Flower Fields caretaker in a community character database; walkthroughs identify her conversation as the step that advances the quest.
- Return to Naughty on Onsen Mountain. Report what Vernie told you to complete the objective.
The Fishing Village is not the productive lead for this step, according to the walkthroughs. There is no reported need to search for or pick up a visible pole. TheGameSlayer’s guide, updated September 11, 2026, and the AllThings.how walkthrough describe the Flower Fields conversation and return to Naughty.
What reward does the quest give?
Guides report that completing the Treasure Hunt grants a Retro Desk Lamp, an in-game furniture item. The reward is reported by Phrasemaker and TheGameSlayer.

If the quest does not advance
- Check the current objective and track the gossip quest in the in-game interface; the reported step is to speak with Vernie, not to locate a world item.
- If Vernie is not available as a lead, confirm that you have started Naughty’s Treasure Hunt and completed the earlier material-delivery requests described above.
- Quest dialogue and availability may vary by game build. The available guides do not provide exact coordinates or an official quest transcript, so use the tracked objective and NPC prompts if they differ from these walkthroughs.
