In Red Dead Redemption (RDR1), the white horse sought for the Stranger mission “Love is the Opiate” is a Hungarian Half-bred. Search in Nuevo Paraíso, especially around Diez Coronas or south of Las Hermanas. These are reported search areas, not guaranteed spawn points.
Where to search in RDR1
Start in Nuevo Paraíso and look for herds in these reported areas:

- Diez Coronas: Check the map area marked with a group of running horses.
- South of Las Hermanas: Search the large inhabited area south of the settlement.
- Around El Matadero: A mission walkthrough reports that one or two wild horses may appear in the open areas nearby.
- West of El Presidio: The same walkthrough recounts finding one on the cliffs there; this is an individual report, not a reliable spawn location.
Horse appearances can vary, so treat these as places to search rather than exact coordinates or guarantees. The reported locations come from community walkthroughs, not an official Rockstar spawn guide.
How to get the horse for “Love is the Opiate”
- Search for a white Hungarian Half-bred in the areas above.
- Lasso the horse, then break it by staying centered while it bucks.
- Ride the horse back to Juan de la Vara at El Matadero to continue the mission.
The Red Dead Wiki walkthrough warns that wild horses will not spawn while you are riding a Hungarian Half-bred. If your search area seems empty, get off one or use a different horse.

Do not follow the RDR2 White Arabian directions
The White Arabian associated with Lake Isabella is a Red Dead Redemption 2 horse. It is not the white mission horse in RDR1. For “Love is the Opiate” in the first game, look for the Hungarian Half-bred in Nuevo Paraíso.
