Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →You get the Writ of Conscription by completing The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals, a side quest from Vigilant Hogarth in Westport on Paradise Island. It is a quest reward, not a separate item to pick up in the world.
How to get the Writ of Conscription
- Speak with Vigilant Hogarth in Westport. He gives you The Saga of the Malfunctioning Mechanicals, which concerns restoring the settlement’s automechs.
- Get access to the Euphoria Coast Automech Repair Center. Credentials for the center are an early objective. A video walkthrough places them in the Ministry of Accuracy, but the available guides do not establish an exact pickup location or a room-by-room route; follow your active objective marker if your route differs. See the WoW Quests walkthrough and ZaFrostPet walkthrough.
- Retrieve the replacement automech parts from the repair center.
- Return the parts to Hogarth and complete the quest. The Writ of Conscription is the reward. The item page and quest page identify the reward relationship.
What the writ lets you do at Vox Relay Station
The writ is one possible way to gain entry to Vox Relay Station: once you reach the station, you can present it to Sentry Second Class Lehman. It does not get you across the bridge, so you still need another route or access option to reach the station. The Vox Relay quest notes distinguish reaching the station from getting inside.
If Hogarth does not give you the writ
Some players have reported missing rewards or trouble using the writ after progressing through other quests or dialogue. Those reports do not establish a universal bug or a reliable workaround. First confirm that you handed the replacement parts to Hogarth, then speak with him again and check his available dialogue. Reports appear in an Obsidian forum thread and a Steam discussion; current patch behavior is not established by those posts.
