Golden Body is unlocked by using Celestial Seize on Shi Yi, a young training monk in the northeast garden of Grand Imperial Temple in Kaifeng. The target is only present during the Chen-through-Wu in-game time window, and you must approach him unseen. Afterward, confirm that the Golden Body Scroll reached your inventory or that the skill shows as learned. A cast animation on its own does not prove the unlock happened.
What you need before you start
- Celestial Seize, learned permanently. It is the prerequisite for this unlock, and its own route runs through Foul Play. Complete that questline first.
- Celestial Seize equipped in an active Mystic Skill slot. Learning a skill and assigning it to a slot are separate steps, and the attempt requires the skill to be usable.
- Access to the in-game clock. The time window is measured in the game’s own day cycle, not the real-world clock.
- Ordinary dialogue does not grant Golden Body. Talking to Shi Yi normally will not give you the skill, so do not spend time on repeated conversations.
Step-by-step unlock route
- Set the in-game time to Chen through Wu. The route guide places Shi Yi at the temple from Chen through Wu, which corresponds roughly to morning into midday in the in-game day.
- Travel to Grand Imperial Temple in Kaifeng. Go to the northeast garden, which the guide describes as a bamboo and stone-figure training area.
- Find the young monk training in the garden. That is Shi Yi. Older spellings and transliterations of his name include 釋一 and Shiyi, so match the figure and location rather than the exact name string.
- Get behind him or out of his line of sight. Move into a position he cannot see, then cast Celestial Seize. The guide does not publish an exact success rate for the theft, so a single failed attempt does not mean the route is wrong.
- Verify the result. Check your inventory for the Golden Body Scroll, or check whether Golden Body is marked as learned. If neither appears, use the troubleshooting steps below before retrying.
- Equip Golden Body. Once learned, assign it to an active Mystic Skill slot so it is usable in combat.
Where the name and location come from
Older material refers to the same site as Daxiangguo Temple. The current Global English name in the route guide is Grand Imperial Temple, so use that name when searching the map. Exact coordinates are not published in the sources reviewed, so rely on the garden description and the in-game map rather than a pin location.
If the unlock seems stuck
- Shi Yi is not in the garden. Switch the in-game time to Chen, Si, or Wu, leave the immediate garden area, and come back so the scene can refresh. This is the route guide’s suggested fix.
- Celestial Seize is greyed out or unavailable. Confirm it is permanently learned and assigned to an active slot. If it is not learned, the Foul Play prerequisite has to be finished first.
- The cast plays but no scroll appears. Check your inventory for the Golden Body Scroll before retrying. The guide treats the animation and the item as two separate things.
- Shi Yi no longer has the item and Golden Body stays locked. A community-reported recovery described in the route guide is to open Bag, go to the Develop tab, look for a yellow scroll or note, and select Cultivate if that action is offered. The guide warns that the tab name and button wording may differ in your version of the game.
- Golden Body is learned but not in your controls. Assign it to an active Mystic Skill slot. Learned skills do not appear in combat until they are equipped.
What Golden Body does
Golden Body is a defensive, shield-oriented Mystic Skill. The sources reviewed do not include a complete current tooltip or full combat values, so read the in-game tooltip for the exact duration, shield amount, cooldown, and upgrade details. Those numbers change between updates and should be checked on your own client.
The Version 1.7 Arena change
The official Version 1.7 announcement, listed with a May 26, 2026 publication date, changes Golden Body in Arena modes. It states:

“The Tenacity effect provided in Arena modes now lasts up to a maximum of 4 seconds.”
The same update also reduces the conversion ratio of remaining Shield Value to HP when the shield ends, in Arena modes. Treat both changes as Arena-specific. The announcement, as reviewed, does not extend them to other modes, so do not assume the four-second cap applies to general play.

For combat decisions, compare the mode you are playing, the live tooltip values, and whether the skill is learned or merely equipped. The sources reviewed do not support a cross-mode ranking of Golden Body builds.

- Route guide. The most detailed route here is a maintained third-party guide, checked July 19, 2026. It covers the time window, garden placement, stealth approach, and the recovery steps.
- Game8. Game8’s guide summary independently states that Golden Body is unlocked by using Celestial Seize on the Training Monk at Grand Imperial Temple. Its full page was not checked, so rely on the route guide for step detail.
- Official update. The Version 1.7 announcement is the only primary source for the Arena changes quoted above.
- Not established. Exact theft success rate, live prompt wording, exact coordinates, cooldown, upgrade costs, and current non-Arena shield values are not confirmed by the sources reviewed.
