Light Hide comes from animal drops, but older guides may point you to the wrong animals: Hytale’s official Update 2 notes changed Bison, Boar, Cow, Horse, and Warthog to drop Medium Hide instead. The current official notes do not give a complete replacement list or confirmed farming location, so check an animal’s drops in your game before travelling to hunt it.
Where can you find Light Hide?
Hunt animals that currently drop Light Hide. The available official information does not identify every remaining source or give a confirmed biome where you can reliably farm it. A community item database lists animal drops, but treat those entries as leads rather than a definitive, up-to-date drop table: the Light Hide item entry.
Hytale.game’s material guide associates Light Hide and Light Leather with hyenas in Howling Sands, but that location claim is not confirmed by the official patch notes. Verify hyena drops in your current game before making a dedicated trip: Hytale.game’s materials guide.
Which animals should you not farm for Light Hide?
Hytale’s official Update 2 patch notes state: “The following NPCs will now drop Medium Hide instead of Light Hide: Bison, Boar, Cow, Horse, Warthog.” Do not rely on older guides that list these five as Light Hide sources unless a later update changes their drops again.

How do you make Light Leather?
Light Hide is the raw ingredient; Light Leather is the processed material. Take the hide to a Tanning Rack and use its Light Leather recipe. The community database confirms this processing route: Light Hide item entry.
Light Hide is also listed in recipes for a Crude Bedroll and a Tanning Rack by the Hytale Guide Wiki. Recipe requirements can change, so check the current recipe displayed at the relevant crafting station before gathering a specific number of hides: Hytale Guide Wiki’s Light Hide page.
