Buy a Rune of Teleportation from a reagent vendor. Mages consume it to cast teleport spells to major cities. The exact vendor and location can vary by game version, so check with a reagent vendor in your current version rather than relying on one universal set of coordinates.
Where to buy Rune of Teleportation
Look for an in-game reagent vendor. The item is sold by this vendor type in WoW Classic; the available references do not establish one dependable vendor coordinate that applies to every Classic version or realm. A Cataclysm Classic item listing records vendors in multiple zones and cities, but it does not identify a universally best stop for every player.
If you are unsure whether a vendor carries it in your client, ask a nearby reagent vendor or consult an item listing specific to your game version. The item is a vendor reagent, so you do not need to seek it out on the Auction House.
What the rune is used for
Mages consume Rune of Teleportation to cast teleport spells to major cities. Spell requirements can differ across game versions: for example, the version details in the Teleport: Exodar reference vary across Classic-era versions. Treat spell information as version-specific rather than assuming every realm has identical requirements.

Rune of Teleportation vs. Rune of Portals
| Reagent | Used for |
|---|---|
| Rune of Teleportation | Mage teleport spells |
| Rune of Portals | Mage portal spells |
They are separate reagents; buy the one that matches the spell you plan to cast. The Rune of Portals item reference covers the portal reagent.
Why guides may disagree about availability
Rune of Teleportation was removed from the non-Classic game in patch 5.0.4 on August 28, 2012, while the item reference describes it as still present in World of Warcraft: Classic. Its history also records a stack-size change in patch 2.3.0 on November 13, 2007. Those historical notes do not establish current vendor inventory for every Classic client, so use a listing for your specific version if the item is not available where you expect.
