To listen outside Nintendo Music, check the exact game on a licensed music service or look for an official CD or vinyl release in your country. Availability varies by game and region; a playlist or album uploaded by an unknown user is not proof of an authorized release. If the soundtrack you want is not officially available elsewhere, Nintendo Music remains the clearest official option, though it requires a Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Are Nintendo soundtracks on Spotify, Apple Music, or other streaming services?

There is no reliable blanket answer for Nintendo soundtracks as a whole. Whether an album appears on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, or another service depends on the specific game, the rights-holder’s release, and the listener’s country. The official information available here does not establish a comprehensive third-party catalogue, so check the exact title in your own service and territory rather than assuming a franchise is available—or unavailable.

When you find a match, verify who released it. A listing from the rights-holder, an authorized label, or a clearly licensed distributor is stronger evidence than a user-created playlist or an upload with an unclear publisher. Nintendo has described its game music as valuable and important intellectual property; president Shuntaro Furukawa made that point at the 2025 shareholder Q&A. That statement is not a catalogue of third-party releases, so it cannot confirm whether a particular soundtrack is licensed on a particular platform.

How to check a streaming listing

  1. Search the exact game title together with “official soundtrack” in the streaming service you use.
  2. Open the album or track details and check the credited artist, label, and publisher. If authorization is unclear, do not treat the listing as official.
  3. Confirm the release is available in your country and includes the tracks you want; a search result alone does not establish either.

Can you buy Nintendo game soundtracks on CD or vinyl?

Some individual games may have physical soundtrack releases, but there is no verified, comprehensive current list here that supports recommending a particular CD or vinyl as a general option. Search for the exact game and format, then confirm the edition, region, release details, and seller. A marketplace listing is not, by itself, evidence that a record is official.

What to verify before buying

  • Release: Look for clear evidence that the album was issued by the rights-holder or an authorized label.
  • Edition and territory: Check the format, track list, language or region details, and compatibility with your playback setup.
  • Seller: Review the seller’s identity and the item’s condition, especially for imported or second-hand copies.

What Nintendo Music offers if you want an official digital option

Nintendo describes Nintendo Music as a service exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members. A Switch console is not required: Nintendo lists listening through compatible smart devices and a computer browser, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto playback. The app supports offline downloads; browser access is also available. See Nintendo’s Canadian Nintendo Music page for its feature details.

That Canadian page describes a catalogue of over 250 hours spanning more than 130 titles. This is Nintendo’s page-specific catalogue figure, accessed in 2026, and may change as the service changes. Nintendo’s official playlists include game-specific examples such as The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. These examples show that the service has title-specific playlists; they do not establish availability on other platforms.

Membership and country requirements

You need a Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online membership to use Nintendo Music. Nintendo’s product page describes a seven-day trial that converts to a renewing one-month membership unless canceled; eligibility and terms apply, so check the current offer before starting it. Availability is regional. Nintendo’s supported-regions page, updated June 2, 2026, lists where the service is available and says additional regions may be added.

How to choose the right route

Option What to check Access model
Third-party streaming service Exact game and tracks, authorized publisher or label, and availability in your country Depends on the service and release; verify the specific listing
CD or vinyl Official release, edition, region, condition, and seller One-time purchase if you find a legitimate release
Nintendo Music Whether the game is in the catalogue and the service is supported in your country Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online membership; app downloads support offline listening

If you want a particular game, start with its exact title and verify the release rather than choosing a platform first. If no confirmed official third-party stream or physical edition turns up, check whether that game is in Nintendo Music and whether the service is available where you live.
