You unlock it on a level 90 Disciple of the Land by finishing the Dawntrail main scenario and the sidequest One Forest, then accepting Cultivating Hope from Gotoll Ja in Yak T’el at X:35.6 Y:32.0.
Unlock route, step by step
- Reach level 90 on a Disciple of the Land. Miner, Botanist, and Fisher all count. The Mamool Ja route is gated on this job level, so a gatherer below 90 cannot start the chain.
- Complete the Dawntrail main scenario quest “Dawntrail.” This is the expansion’s main story quest and must be finished before One Forest becomes available.
- Complete the sidequest “One Forest.” Square Enix’s Patch 7.25 notes say One Forest opens only after you progress through quest chains that begin with “Aiming High” and “Lost and Powerless.” The notes name those two starting quests but do not list every step in between, so follow the quest log if One Forest does not appear.
- Travel to Yak T’el and speak with Gotoll Ja at X:35.6 Y:32.0. Accept Cultivating Hope, the Mamool Ja starter quest.
- Complete Cultivating Hope. This unlocks the Mamool Ja daily quests and the society’s vendor.
Gathering the materials Mamool Ja quests request
Some Mamool Ja quest objectives ask for materials that can only be collected while that quest is active. Those items do not appear in the Gathering or Fishing Log. According to the Patch 7.25 notes, they are listed in the Duty List instead. If you search your logs for a requested item and find nothing, open the active quest’s objective and gather from there rather than assuming the item is missing from the game.
Quest sync and job-switching rules
Mamool Ja quests use quest sync, which scales their difficulty to your current class or job level. The Patch 7.25 notes also warn that some of these quests do not let you switch to a different class or job from the one you used to accept them. Accept a quest on the gatherer you intend to finish it with, and avoid switching jobs mid-quest.
Telling the Dawntrail societies apart
Dawntrail has several Allied Societies, and their starter quests are easy to confuse. The table below separates the gatherer route from the others. Only Mamool Ja is a gatherer unlock.

Version notes and sources
The unlock route above comes from Square Enix’s Patch 7.25 notes, which include an update dated June 3, 2025. Those notes quote the requirement directly: “To unlock Mamool Ja daily quests, players must first complete the allied society quest ‘Cultivating Hope.'” The notes also state that this content requires Dawntrail registration, so players without the expansion cannot reach the Mamool Ja chain.
Because the notes are dated to Patch 7.25, check the current patch notes if a step has changed. The Lodestone Eorzea Database lists the Dawntrail societies separately and displayed Patch 7.56 at the time it was checked, so the unlock steps may have been revised in later patches. The steps here reflect what the Patch 7.25 notes document.
