Use four tests when comparing any option: is it official or independent, is it animation or a tabletop battle report, is the video public or behind a subscription or in-app purchase, and does it cover the game system you play? Presentation style, episode length and regional access can also differ substantially.

Official animation: what “without Warhammer TV” really means
Warhammer+ is the documented home of the full official catalogue
Games Workshop positions Warhammer TV, included with Warhammer+, as the home for its original animation and its substantial official battle-report library. If your goal is to follow every official series or recover the complete run of Warhammer TV exclusives, no other legal catalogue is evidenced here.
That distinction matters because a search result, a clip on social media or a fan-uploaded episode can look like an alternative while lacking authorization. A video being playable does not prove that the uploader has permission or that the upload will remain available. For a complete and legitimate official catalogue, check the current Warhammer TV and Warhammer+ terms for your country.
Arkanaut’s announced 2026 schedule
Games Workshop’s September 30, 2026 announcement scheduled the first episode of the new Warhammer Age of Sigmar animation Arkanaut for Friday, October 16, followed by episodes on October 23 and October 30. The announcement’s wording was: “The first episode of the new Warhammer Age of Sigmar animation, Arkanaut, will be heading to Warhammer TV on Friday 16 October.”

Because October 16, 2026 has now passed, treat that date as an announced schedule rather than proof that the episode is currently playable. Release status should be checked on the current official schedule. October 23 and October 30 were the subsequent announced dates; they likewise should be verified when those dates arrive. This is a useful example of why a dated announcement cannot serve as a permanent availability guarantee.

Free official videos: where to check first
Use the Warhammer Community video directory
The Warhammer Community video directory is the sensible first stop when you want official material without immediately subscribing. Its topic coverage includes lore, battle reports and painting, and it can surface videos that Games Workshop has chosen to publish publicly.
Do not assume that a directory listing means every episode of a series is free. Check the individual video page, its current play controls and any sign-in or regional message. A public clip may be a trailer, a partial episode, a one-off battle report or a promotional sample rather than the complete programme.
The 2023 free-episode promotion was temporary
In an August 10, 2023 article, Games Workshop said Warhammer+ had “more than 70 Battle Report episodes” at that time and announced that a selection of shows would be free for anyone to watch for two weeks. The article specified an end date of August 22, 2023.

Independent battle reports that do not require Warhammer TV
Play On Tabletop
Games Workshop’s March 29, 2024 community feature highlighted Play On Tabletop as a YouTube channel and described a 14,000-point Legions Imperialis battle report. That makes the channel a credible starting point for independent tabletop coverage, especially if you want to see a large-scale game played out with commentary and a produced presentation.
It remains an independent creator. Games Workshop’s feature does not turn the channel into an official Warhammer TV outlet, and it does not establish that Play On Tabletop carries Warhammer animations. Expect the channel’s catalogue to depend on its own production schedule and the game systems it chooses to cover.
Tabletop Tactics
The Tabletop Tactics App Store listing describes Warhammer battle reports and weekly shows and notes that the app contains in-app purchases. That is evidence of a separate independent viewing service, not a statement that every programme is paid or that every programme is available in every country.
The listing does not settle the current price, which episodes are free to preview, whether access is a subscription or individual purchase in your region, or how long a particular show remains available. Open the current app listing for your country and read the purchase screen before committing. Do not describe the service as wholly free or wholly paid without checking those details.

How to find a legal video today
- Define the format. Write down whether you need an animated story, an official studio battle report, or an independent game played by creators. Searching for “Warhammer animation” when you actually want a 10th Edition match produces a different set of results.
- Check the official directory. Start with Warhammer Community’s video area. Open the individual episode or video rather than trusting a search-result title, and note whether it plays publicly, requests a Warhammer+ sign-in, or redirects elsewhere.
- Verify the date. Promotional pages can remain indexed after an offer ends. Look for a current publication date, an active player and an explicit access message. The August 2023 free-episode article is historical evidence, not a live offer.
- For independent reports, use the creator’s own channel or app. Play On Tabletop’s YouTube presence and Tabletop Tactics’ official app listing are safer starting points than reuploads hosted by unknown accounts.
- Check the game system and scale. A report about Legions Imperialis is not automatically useful to someone looking for Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar or a specific edition. Read the title and description for the system, faction, edition and point size.
- Confirm regional terms before paying. Subscription pages and app stores can show different prices, taxes, catalogues or payment options by country. If the page does not state a price or regional catalogue, record that as unknown rather than guessing.
- Save the official page, not a mirror. If a video disappears, the creator or rights holder is the party able to clarify whether it was removed, moved behind a subscription or limited to a promotion.

Warhammer TV is the appropriate route when you want Games Workshop’s own animated series, a single account for official shows, or the catalogue associated with Warhammer+. Why unauthorized uploads are a poor substitute
Fan uploads and reuploads often appear when viewers search for subscription animation, but a search result does not establish authorization. Such videos may be removed, edited, mislabeled or replaced by advertisements. - “I want free tabletop games on YouTube.” Start with independent creators such as Play On Tabletop, then confirm that the episode covers your preferred system and edition.
- “I want a regular independent show in an app.” Review the Tabletop Tactics listing and the purchase screen available in your region; the available information does not establish a universal price or free tier.
- “I want the newest announced animation.” Check the live Warhammer TV schedule. The announced Arkanaut dates were October 16, 23 and 30, 2026, but an announcement alone does not verify current playback.
What to check before recommending a link to someone else
Record the source type, publication date, game system, episode title and access condition. A recommendation should say “official Warhammer animation,” “official Warhammer TV battle report” or “independent battle report” rather than using “Warhammer video” as if those categories were interchangeable.
