The supported PC versions are:

- The official PC launcher
PlayStation support is for PS5. The game’s official launch information confirms full cross-play and cross-progression between the supported PC platforms and PS5. NetEase’s launch announcement and the official cross-platform guide document the feature.

Cross-play and cross-progression are different
Cross-play lets players on different supported platforms play online together. For example, someone on Steam can play with someone on PS5.

Both features are supported, but they depend on using the correct linked accounts and the same server region. The current official platform FAQ states that cross-play and cross-progression are region-limited.
How to link Steam, Epic, or PS5
For Steam, Epic Games Store, and PS5, use this in-game path:
Settings → Other → User Center → Link Account

- Log in to Where Winds Meet.
- Open Settings.
- Select Other.
- Open User Center.
- Select Link Account.
- Choose and link the platform account that should share your existing character and progress.
Use the platform identity that belongs to the account containing the character you want to keep. Signing in with a different Steam, Epic, or PSN identity can lead to separate character data.
How to link the official PC launcher
The official PC launcher uses a title-screen flow:
Title Screen → User Center → Link Account
This option can be used before creating a character, which makes it suitable when you are starting on PC and intend to continue on another platform.
The correct order matters
Link the existing account before creating a character on the new platform.

Moving an existing PC character to PS5
- Open Where Winds Meet on PS5.
- Use the account-linking flow before creating a PS5 character.
- Link the account that already contains your PC character.
- After linking, check that the existing character appears.
Moving an existing PS5 character to PC
- Start the game on the intended PC platform.
- Open User Center and select Link Account.
- Link the PC platform identity to the account containing your PS5 character.
- Do not create a new PC character before completing the link.
Linking is designed to connect additional platform identities to one existing account. It does not merge two independent character databases.

What carries across platforms?
Once the accounts are correctly linked, you can continue the same character and game progress across Steam, Epic Games Store, the official PC launcher, and PS5.

That FAQ was published for the Xbox launch and describes the current account-wide model across Xbox, PC, PlayStation, and mobile. Platform availability and regional service restrictions can still apply.

You cannot merge two existing characters
If the PC or platform account and the PSN account both already contain characters, the normal linking flow cannot combine them. Choose the account whose progress you want to retain before creating data on the second platform.

If you create a character on the new platform first, that account may acquire its own character data. The official guide warns that this can prevent it from being linked to the account containing your existing progress.

Unwanted target data may require support
If the account you need to link already contains unwanted character data, the official instructions direct players to contact customer support about deleting that data. The support address listed in the guide is [email protected]. Do not assume the data can be removed from the settings yourself.
Manual unlinking is not available
Accounts cannot be freely unlinked through the game’s settings. The official guide says to contact customer support if an unlink request is necessary. Because unlinking is restricted for security reasons, verify the platform identity before confirming the link.
Both players must use the same server region
Correct account linking alone is not enough for cross-play. Cross-play and cross-progression are limited to the same server region. If a linked character does not appear, or friends cannot join one another, confirm that both accounts selected the same region.
Rewards that may require a specific step
- PlayStation preorder bundle: You must log in on PS5 at least once to claim the bundle bonuses.
- Milestone rewards: These are sent through in-game mail after the character reaches Level 5.
- Pre-registration rewards: These are distributed after completing the main quest Homecoming.
These requirements are separate from whether your character progress is shared between platforms.
Quick checklist before switching platforms
- Confirm that you are using Steam, Epic Games Store, the official PC launcher, or PS5.
- Identify the account that contains the character you want to keep.
- Use User Center → Link Account before creating a character on the new platform.
- Confirm that you selected the intended Steam, Epic, or PSN identity.
- Use the same server region on both platforms.
- Remember that two existing character databases cannot be merged.
- Contact support for unwanted existing data or an unlink request.
Bottom line
Where Winds Meet does have PC–PS5 cross-play and cross-progression. Link the new platform to the account containing your existing character before creating a new character, and make sure both platforms use the same server region. The system shares one account’s character and progress; it does not merge separately created characters, and links cannot be freely undone in the settings.
