Use the requirements for your chosen distribution rather than treating one table as universal. The figures below were checked on August 16, 2026, and may change with future updates.

Where Winds Meet official PC requirements
The developer’s official installation guide, dated November 3, 2025, provides separate desktop and laptop specifications. Its desktop table includes minimum, recommended and high tiers.

The official page says systems below minimum specifications may be unable to install the game. It also warns that low-performance PCs can encounter installation failures, black screens or lag. Minimum specifications are therefore an installation and startup floor, not a promise of smooth play at a particular resolution or frame rate.

The guide does not publish separate recommended or high laptop tiers. Do not interpret the laptop minimum as a direct performance equivalent to the desktop table: mobile GPUs vary significantly with power limits, cooling and memory configuration.
Steam system requirements
The Steam listing currently shows stricter minimum requirements than the official launcher.

Steam also recommends an SSD. It lists broadband internet, online co-op, online PvP and cross-platform multiplayer. The game is free-to-play and includes in-app purchases.

The Epic Games Store listing is closer to the official launcher’s figures.

Epic recommends an SSD and requires an Epic Games account. Store display language can vary by region, but the listed hardware requirements are reproduced here in English.
Why are the requirements different?
The listings appear to describe different distribution packages or configurations, but the cited first-party pages do not fully explain the technical reason for every difference. The official guide identifies three launcher packages:

This helps explain why the official launcher and Epic show lower storage and hardware thresholds than Steam, but it does not justify claiming that one version is a special “low-spec edition.” The safest approach is to compare your PC with the requirements for the platform you actually intend to use.
Which requirements should you trust?
- Choose your distribution first: official launcher, Steam or Epic.
- Check that platform’s current listing or launcher guide.
- Use Steam’s table if you plan to play through Steam; do not substitute the official launcher’s 8GB minimum.
- Treat minimum specifications as a basic compatibility threshold, not a smooth-performance guarantee.
- Recheck the live page before installing because the developer says requirements may change with updates.
Can your PC run Where Winds Meet?
If you have 8GB of RAM
Eight gigabytes meets the official launcher and Epic minimum, but it does not meet Steam’s current minimum of 16GB. It is a tight configuration for Windows gaming and multitasking. Close unnecessary background applications, and expect less headroom than with 16GB or 32GB. If you use Steam, 8GB falls below the published minimum.
If you have 16GB of RAM
Sixteen gigabytes meets Steam’s minimum and the official launcher’s minimum, but it is below the 32GB recommended figure shown by the official launcher, Steam and Epic. Whether the game is comfortable to play will also depend on the CPU, GPU, storage device and graphics settings. No cited source supplies a guaranteed frame rate.
If you have 32GB of RAM
Thirty-two gigabytes matches the recommended and high RAM figures in the official launcher guide and the recommended Steam figure. It does not, by itself, make a PC recommended-spec hardware: the processor and graphics card must also meet the relevant tier.
If you have an older graphics card
The official launcher and Epic list a GTX 750 Ti, RX 550 or Arc A380-class GPU at minimum. Steam instead lists a GTX 1060 6GB or RX 480 8GB. Meeting one of those names means only that your hardware is in the listed minimum class; it does not establish a target resolution, quality preset or frame rate.

The published tables name discrete GPUs and do not certify integrated graphics. Systems using integrated graphics may also be limited by shared memory, but a specific integrated GPU should not be assumed to work without separate testing.

If you use a gaming laptop
Start with the official laptop minimum of Ryzen 7 5800HS, GeForce MX450 and 8GB RAM. Do not compare mobile GPU names with desktop models without accounting for the laptop’s power limit, cooling and memory configuration. The official guide does not provide laptop recommended specifications.

The storage figures are not interchangeable:

These are listed available-space figures, not a guarantee that the game will always occupy exactly that amount. Leave additional room for temporary installation files, patches and future content. The sources do not define a fixed patch buffer, so extra headroom is practical advice rather than an official requirement.
An SSD is recommended by the official launcher, Steam and Epic. The official guide says HDD installation can mean slower downloads and a less optimal experience, but none of the cited pages makes an SSD universally mandatory or specifies a particular SSD interface or speed.
Official launcher installation details
- Download the launcher through the official website’s Download Game option.
- Use an installation path written in English or the system language; the official guide warns that other path languages can cause errors.
- If the launcher does not respond, the guide advises launching the game’s
.exedirectly from the game directory and reinstalling the launcher if necessary. - If Windows reports that the file is incompatible, check whether the PC meets the recommended specifications.
Which PC version should you choose?

There is no universally best storefront. Choose based on your existing library and launcher preference, but use the corresponding requirements when judging whether your PC is ready. If your hardware is borderline, Steam is the most conservative comparison among the listed PC versions.
Release and online features
Where Winds Meet was released on PC on November 14, 2025. Steam and Epic list it as free-to-play, with in-app purchases. Steam describes single-player content alongside online co-op, online PvP and cross-platform multiplayer. Broadband internet is listed as a requirement, and Epic requires an Epic Games account. The available sources do not establish that every single-player activity requires a continuous internet connection, so that broader claim should not be assumed.
Bottom line
Where Winds Meet may run on a relatively old PC through the official launcher or Epic if it reaches their listed minimum, but that does not promise smooth gameplay. For a safer baseline, aim for at least 16GB of RAM, an SSD and hardware around the requirements of your chosen storefront. For the recommended tier, 32GB of RAM and a GPU around the RTX 2070 Super, RX 6700 XT or Arc A750 class are listed targets. Always check the live platform page before installing.
