Where Winds Meet currently supports two full voice tracks: English and Chinese. You can use either dub with your preferred interface language and subtitles. Simplified and Traditional Chinese are separate text options, not separate voice performances.
Which voice languages does Where Winds Meet support?
The current Steam listing identifies English and Simplified Chinese as the game’s full-audio languages. In practice, the in-game voice menu labels the choices simply as English and Chinese.

The other listed languages—Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish—Latin America, Portuguese—Brazil, Thai, Vietnamese, and Russian—offer interface and subtitle localization but not a separate dubbed voice track. Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese affect text and menus; they do not represent different Chinese recordings.

How to change the dub
- Open the Game Menu during gameplay.
- Select Settings.
- Open the Language page.
- Set Game Voice to English or Chinese.
The language page separates three controls:
- Game Language: menus, descriptions, dialogue text, and other interface text.
- Game Voice: dubbed dialogue and cutscene audio.
- Translation Settings (Target Language): automatic translations, including some signposts and world chat.
These settings are independent. For example, Chinese voice with English text and subtitles is supported. You can also change the voice after character creation; the initial language choice does not permanently lock the game to one dub. The Game8 language-settings guide documents the menu path and available combinations.
Is the English dub available on every platform?
The in-game menu provides English and Chinese voice choices, and Steam explicitly lists both as full audio. However, storefront metadata is not consistent across platforms.

This does not establish that the audio differs by platform. It means that Steam provides the clearest current storefront confirmation of English audio, while Epic and PlayStation metadata is incomplete or differently categorized. Check the voice setting inside your installed version rather than assuming that one store page documents every platform identically.

Publicly documented Chinese voice credits
The Chinese release has publicly circulated credits for several major roles, although there is no complete current English-language Chinese cast database published by NetEase or Everstone. Documented examples include:

These names come from publicly available Chinese character and voice-credit references, including Chinese reference material and Ali213’s voice-actor listing. They should not be read as confirmation of every NPC or additional-voice credit.
Does “full audio” mean every line is voiced?
No. “Full audio” is a platform-store language classification, not a guarantee that every line in every game system has a voice recording or that every recording will play correctly.

The developers have addressed localization and audio problems in successive updates. A November 23, 2025 developer letter mentioned revised translations and optimized dubbing and subtitles in various story quests. May 8, 2026 patch notes recorded fixes for missing subtitles in parts of main-story quests. July 24, 2026 notes included a fix for abnormal background sound effects in certain scenes. The official Version 2.0 patch notes dated August 7, 2026 still include language and localization corrections, such as an incorrect English item description, but do not claim that every historical voice or subtitle issue has been eliminated.
Players have also reported isolated problems such as English dialogue stopping after the first line, a scene switching between English and Chinese, subtitles not matching the spoken line, missing subtitles, and different-sounding English performances for the same protagonist. These are reported localization or audio bugs, not universal behavior confirmed for every player.
What to try if dialogue audio disappears
A commonly reported workaround is:
- Open Settings → Language.
- Change Game Voice from English to Chinese.
- Retry or reload the affected scene.
- If desired, switch Game Voice back to English and test the scene again.
This workaround has been reported by players, but it is not an officially documented universal fix. If the problem persists, the safest next steps are to reload an earlier checkpoint, restart the game, check for updates, and report the quest and scene details through the game’s support channels.

Is the English dub AI-generated?
That has not been verified. No cited official statement confirms that the English dub is AI-generated, partly AI-generated, or entirely synthetic. Public credits identify human English voice performers, but those credits alone cannot establish how every line—including ambient, repeatable, or dynamically generated dialogue—was produced.
The accurate conclusion is that Where Winds Meet has publicly credited English actors, while the developer has not published a complete technical statement covering the production method for every voiced line.
